The Bruins are in really, really, really southern Minnesota for their meeting with the Dallas Minnesota North Stars. Of Dallas. Both teams must just be lost. I can’t imagine this “Dallas” thing will last…
There’s a North Stars Alumni game coming up today, and Minnesota hockey fans are really confused.
Be it in Minnesota or Dallas (I get them confused) Tonight we get to see the Bruins’ semi-annual reunion with Bruins Alumnus Tyler Seguin.
Fortunately, Bruins fans quickly made their peace with that trade and have no regrets.
For those eager to discuss the Seguin trade, you may go here
This will be the final game of this road trip
With 191 goals for, the Stars are the most prolific scoring team in the NHL, and have the second highest PTS/GM in the league (behind the Caps). They are led by the top-line scoring duo of Seguin & Benn, the #3 & #4 goal scorers in the league.
Fortunately, the Bruins have done pretty well in scoring this year as well, with #5 goal scorer Brad Marchand actually scoring at a faster pace than Seguin or Benn.
Ryan Spooner is questionable due to illness. Based on the morning skate, the likely lineups tonight are:
AM line rushes (w/o Spooner):
Marchand—Bergeron—Connolly
Eriksson—Krejci—Pastrnak
Beleskey—Kemppainen—Hayes
Rinaldo—Talbot—Ferraro—Randell— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) February 20, 2016
Defense Pairs:
Chara—Trotman
Seidenberg—K. Miller
Krug—McQuaid— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) February 20, 2016
#TuukkaTime expected tonight in Dallas, with Rask the first goalie off the ice at morning skate.
— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) February 20, 2016
- Projected Stars Lineups:
Jamie Benn – Tyler Seguin – Ales Hemsky
Mattias Janmark – Jason Spezza – Patrick Eaves
Antoine Roussel – Cody Eakin – Patrick Sharp
Valeri Nichushkin – Vernon Fiddler – Colton Sceviour
Alex Goligoski – John Klingberg
Johnny Oduya – Jordie Benn
Patrik Nemeth – Jason Demers
Kari Lehtonin
The Bruins started the season with the hottest power play in hockey, and the worst penalty kill. Things have reversed themselves since then. Since the All-Star break, the Bruins Power Play has gone 1 for 32, ranking them last in the league, while their Penalty Kill has improved to 83.42% for the year, ranking them as one of the best in the league, but since the break they have gone 25-32 which is below average. Still, the Bruins have snagged 6 of the 12 available points on this road trip, and have a chance to make it 8 points tonight.
Expect the Stars to attack the Bruins with speed. The current defensive lineup is not the fastest that the Bruins have iced this season, and have struggled against speedy attacking teams. As usual when facing Dallas, unless the Bruins can slow the game down, this could be a long night for the B’s.
Next period thread is up
thank you!
Marchand on the 1st unit. #FuckItSCORENOW
good thing I am drunk
Catching up.
good call
Teeling single malt Irish whiskey:
Man, jealous. this game may cause me to bring out my Glenfiddich.
I lucked out and got a bottle of it on sale at the whisky fair I was at last weekend.
nice! was the fair a good time?
It was! Tried a lot of really nice stuff. Bought a couple bottles and a mitt-full of samples. Met a whisky fan and hockey fan, and I’m gonna meet up with him at the Adler Mannheim game tomorrow.
NICE, that is awesome! Meeting new hockey/whiskey fans is fun. I hope the game goes well tomorrow.
Whiskey has some funny culture. At these fairs, you do see the higher end whiskey snobs, the people with money, etc. But you also get the hockey fans and the black metal fans.
ahahah that does sound like so much fun, I hope to experience one of these one day.
go to new thread! talk more whiskey there!
Oooo…this Teeling is dangerous. Very tasty, very drinkable. Gotta be careful with it.
Oooo…with the right amount of water it’s silky.
drinkable and tasty is dangerous
Yeah, there are some whiskies I have forbidden myself from buying ’cause I know what happens to them.
This one might join that list…add the right amount of water and it’s silky and pretty. Typical melon, pear, and barley notes for an Irish whiskey, with hints of fruit and cocoa. Mmmm.
man, that sounds so good.
There are some great whiskies coming out of Ireland these days.
i wish i could afford to get drunk
mainline canadian government whisky and you’ll get drunk

i’d buy pepe lopez tequila before any whiskey
the name alone makes this okay.
Only method of drinking Pepe Lopez Tequila: Straight from the bottle out of the freezer
I’d do it.
That is space in my freezer that should be occupied by Jägermeister.
…oh man I haven’t had Jagr since college.
chased with a juice box
all you need to know is its $10 and a plastic bottle
I’d drink it

Save some for Fastlane.
oh god, yeah I probably should.
Hoping the Edge Christian New Day segment leads to an Enzo and Cass debut
you and me both. also, I still want the Demon King Finn Balor vs Undertaker.
Entrances alone would take up all of Mania.
HAHAH, you aren’t wrong, but Balor needs to be called up, ugh.
Yup. Whiskey time.
