The Bruins odds of making the playoffs are now 98.9%. Things are looking dicey for the Penguins and Red Wings, as the Road Cones are nipping at their heels.

He needs something stronger if he’s looking to enhance HIS performances. The Habnots had high hopes for him, but even they gave up on him.

So, out of curiosity….how many people’s minds changed about this team’s playoff chances after this stretch?
Before the trade deadline, I was confident that the B’s would make the playoffs. As for how they’d do once they got there, I figured they had a chance at beating any team in their division. Less than 50% against Tampa Bay and Florida, above 50% against Detroit. Only Hot Goalie Syndrome would get them past the Capitals.
After the trade deadline, making the playoffs is all but a certainty. Once in the playoffs, they still might have a first-round exit, but I think their chances at a 2nd-round are much improved. I would not be surprised if they made it to the Conference Finals, but I would also not be surprised if they lose to Tampa Bay. They should be favored against Florida and Detroit. It will still take Hot Goalie Syndrome to get them past the Capitals.
Not just hot goalie syndrome, but Holtby catching some sort of space plague and missing a series
I entered the season cautiously optimistic. That hasn’t changed much. A little more optimism. I’m enjoying the ups and downs, the development and trying to accept the steps backward as part of the process. I think this season has been as much fun (lately) as I hoped it would be.
Yeah, I was in a similar mindset. I figured/hoped they’d be kinda ok in the first half of the season, and gradually improve in the second half of the season. Looks like they’re on target.
And I agree that it’s been a fun ride. It’s always something different with this team. Good or bad, they’re never boring.
They can be stressful as hell to watch, but are also a lot of fun. Last year was just stressful from start to pathetic finish
Not significantly. What’s changed in my mind is that I no longer think it will just be a squeak in, and I feel like they may have a chance to make it past the first round.
Not sure if I’ve changed my mind on it. I’m just trying to enjoy the run right now. I think the B’s look better than they did this time last season.

Agreed, and i’ll add my broken record statement of “plus this seasons suckiness is due to youth and poor decisions instead of last year’s issue of lack of effort”…which in my mind makes a huge difference.
Inexperience can be coached/played out of them. Don’t-give-a-shit can’t.
Playoff chances or deep run?
Even in the beginning of the year (not RIGHT at the beginning, but maybe around November or so…) I thought they would make the playoffs, but I have no idea how deep their run will be. I was expecting the worst right at the beginning, but at this point, I’m just happy they’re most likely taking a seat at the table now.
Moreso the run…for example how many rounds.
I see either a first round exit or a run to the ECF right about now. Recent play has made me less pessimistic about our chances in the 2nd
Well like I said, since I thought they wouldn’t make the playoffs early on, any run this year is just gravy to me. I hate this attitude some have of win the Cup or the season is a total bust, because there’s a number of teams who haven’t seen the playoffs in YEARS. One series at a time.
