No Tuukka will NOT shave his head this year… but keep reading.

Patrice Bergeron and local radio station 98.5 the Sports Hub are holding the 9th annual Cuts for a Cause fundraiser at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston on March 30th.

Those of us who watched the past seasons of Behind The B will recognize that Bergy, and Shawn Thornton before him, would corral the Bruins players to get their heads shaved for charity. And some of those players, while sympathetic to the cause, were reluctant to part with their fabulous flow. (Yeah, we’re looking at you, Tuukka). Well this year, those players are turning the tables — they will be the ones holding the razor. Tuukka, Loui, Krug, Krejci and Pasta will be available to shave the heads of their highest bidders. 19 other Bruins, including newcomers Lee Stempniak and John-Michael Liles, will be going under the razor. Also, radio hosts “& Rich” (Shertenlieb), John Wallach, Felger & Mazz, Jimmy Stewart, Chris Gaspar, and Jim Murray are currently up for bid to have their heads shaved.

This is a big event for the Bruins. Last year they raised $130,027.02 for the Bruins Foundation and Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. (funding pediatric cancer research & treatment) Fans can bid to shave a player’s head, have their own head shaved, or purchase tickets at http://bostonbruins.com/cutsforacause The bidding has already opened.
