Yes it’s that time again!
No, not for the Bruins yet, but for Bruins prospects! The Bruins have
nine eight players in the NCAA tournament (not counting Wiley Sherman who would have been nine playing for Yale but was out with an injury). Also kicking off this weekend is the CHL playoffs in which the Bruins have five players skating. One in the OHL, two in the QMJHL and two in the WHL. So how are the baby-baby Bruins doing? Every Monday there will be an update to this table on how the players are doing.

The NCAA tournament is one and done, so several Bruins prospects have already packed their bags on this season. Notre Dame lost a heart breaker in OT to Michigan 3-2. Boston College continued it’s dominating play by beating Harvard 4-1 (both games on Friday). On Saturday U-Mass Lowell ended Yale’s season 3-2 again in OT, while Denver (surprisingly to me anyway) thumped BU 7-2. (Hi Matt Grezlcyk, Rob O’Gara, it’s Don Sweeney. Do you want to play in Providence for a little while? K-thanks!)
Danton Heinen and Ryan Fitzgerald both are in the Frozen Four with Denver taking on North Dakota and Boston College going against Quinnipiac. Zach Senyshyn and the Soo Greyhounds are 2-0 against the Sarnia Sting. DeBrusk and the Red Deer Rebels have a 2-1 lead against the Calgary Hitmen. The Prince George Cougars (Jesse Gabrielle) are down 0-2 to the Seattle Thunderbirds. Jakub Zboril and the Saint John Icecaps lead 2-0 over Acadie-Bathurst Titan, while Jeremy Lauzon’s Rouyn-Noranda Huskies lead 2-0 over Drummondville Voltigeurs.
So through three days of playoff / tournament action. The 13 Bruins Prospects have scored a combined 27 points in 21 games. The NCAA tournament does not resume until April 7th (really? A week and a half away?) however the CHL playoffs keep rolling on! Who’s your favorite player!
