USA: Dylan Larkin 7 GP, 2G, 5A, 7P, 4PIM +4

How they got here:
Česko: Surprising top seed from Group A. A 3-0 victory over Rossija in their first game set the tone. Goaltending’s been carrying them, with strong performances from Dominik Furch and Pavel Francouz.
USA: Limped their way into the playoffs, having only beaten Bielaruś, Magyarország, and France.

Suomi vs. Danmark (9:15AM ET)

Danmark: Niklas Jensen 7 GP, 5G, 2A, 7P, 6PIM, -1

How they got here:
Suomi: Stomped Group B, 7-0, all wins in regulation. Patrik Laine has been a beast despite being targeted. #2 PP, #2 PK, #2 SV%, #1 GAA, #1 PIM.
Danmark: Hockey in Denmark is on the rise and on display with a strong showing at the WHC. Danmark has the top-ranked power play in the WHC. They’ve also been getting excellent goaltending despite what their GAA says.

Rossija vs. Deutschland (1:15PM ET)

Top scorers:
Rossija: Vadim Shipachyov 7 GP, 3G, 10A, 13P, 6PIM, +6
Deutschland: Patrick Hager 7 GP, 3G, 4A, 7P, 6PIM, +6

How they got here:
Rossija: Got off on the wrong foot with the loss to the Czech Republic, but took off from there. Offense has been outstanding, and it’s been a great showcase for KHL scoring talent. Oh, and the offense will get even better with the Russian Capitals coming over. An already potent offense has just added a ton of firepower.
Deutschland: Good showing for the German squad, which has worked hard and given better teams fits. Sturmface’s influence is noticeable. They’ll get Thomas Greiss in net for the playoffs and they’ll need all the help they can get against the Russian offensive onslaught.

Canada vs. Sverige (1:15PM ET)

Top scorers:
Canada: Derick Brassard 7 GP, 3G, 6A, 9P, 2PIM, +9
Sverige: Gustav Nyquist 7 GP, 7G, 1A, 8P, 4PIM, -1

How they got here:
Canada: Steamrolled Group B but slammed into a wall in a 4-0 loss to Suomi in their last game. Connor McDavid and Taylor Hall have built chemistry at the WHC. They were split up in Edmonton but are making a case to have them on the same line now.
Sverige: A rather lackluster performance from the Swedes this year, despite a 5-2 record. A 4-2 loss to the Czechs and a 4-1 loss to the Russians doesn’t bode well.

Can I watch it?
Yes, NBCSN will show the game. If you can watch TSN, then they’ll have it, too.

Consolation Prize
Magyarország was relegated to Division I, but after a strong showing by goaltender Adam Vay, the Minnesota Wild announced they have signed him to an entry level contract. Hajrá magyarok!
