So, yesterday was the fifth anniversary of the 2010-11 Boston Bruins winning the Stanley Cup.
We spent the evening here at Monster Island watching Game 7, remembering why we hate Alex Burrows, Ryan Kesler, Jannik Hansen, and laughing at how Doc believed that Andrew Ference had a brother Brad (from another mother apparently because of the two weeks separating their births) and how much he would have appreciated that moment. While we feel bad that Brad Ference (no relation), he himself a defenceman who played 250 games in the NHL for the Panthers, Coyotes, and Flames, could not experience that particular joy of raising the cup, it’s funny that the all-knowing Pierre did not correct him.
“Hi there, I’m Pierre and I’m here to creep you out.”
Anyway, uh, I guess there was pre-draft trade involving the Blackhawks and Hurricanes.
Phil Kessel: The Legend Continues participated in some Stanley Cup Parade in Pittsburgh.
So, right, another day begins!

A day after making a good trade, the Hurricanes follow it up by signing Cam Ward to a 2-year, $3.3mil/yr deal:

Bwa?
Welp, so much for them getting better
There are 59 other goalies in the NHL who are better than Cam Ward.
Ward is okay and a bargain at 3.3
The Whalercanes problems are a little deeper than Ward. He might do okay behind a good team.
Shoulda traded Tuker an kept that Jones guy
I also have no problem with Ward. Although the Penguins have cap issues and 2 starting goaltenders. Fleury is costing them around $5.75M to warm a bench.
Well, NESN is reporting a rumor that Calgary may be interested in MAF.
They should.

That kind of day, eh?
Bruins sign Peter Cehlarik to a 3-year entry level deal:

yay?
So whats everyone’s general feelings twards the draft? Excitement….nervousness…dread…hope?
All of the above.
As a member of Bearly on Topic, I feel bad for what I am about to say.
I feel indifferent. I attended the 2004 Draft which was fun, but unless I am there or there are lots of trades, it’s a boring event.
BTW, I saw some AWESOME guys get drafted.

Well…with Sweeney…i dont htink anyhting is predictable…lol
We could see Columbus trading down from the #3 spot:
http://www.todaysslapshot.com/from-the-ice/mckenzie-outlines-why-blue-jackets-may-trade-top-draft-pick/
We could finally see Edmonton trade the #4 pick and perhaps roster players to acquire defense.
The Bruins might trade one of their 1st round picks for defense.
We could see the Rangers, Kings, Blackhawks, Sharks, and Penguins trade into the 1st round, as they all have no 1st round picks.
The Leafs as they go to make their pick:

I would give both 1st rounders for some D!
Still, I’d just as soon read it in the paper (if i read the paper, who am I kidding. All my news comes from B2B). There will still be plenty of time to imagine how these picks will fit into the Bs future. There’s still time to figure out how last year’s picks fit into the Bs future!!
Good morning. It’s Thursday. I’m sleepy. Still stuck in scan project hell. Determined to finish out a drawer today.
Hey All, Still very busy!! Check you’ uns out later.
Good Morning.
I got the job offer!
Congrats! Now for those decisions!!!
Congrats! You razzled and dazzled those mother fuckers!
You accepting the jerb?
Most likely. But, I’m still processing the pros/cons and struggling to believe I actually got an offer.
Pros: Engineer title, hefty pay raise (several k more than expected), not here, new learning experiences
Cons: Scary new world, sounds like it would be busy with some long hours for the next year until they stabilize a bit, eh health insurance, eh vacation policy
TAKE IT.
Also:
True. I haven’t yet decided how I plan to walk out on my last day yet. Do I dance a little jig on my manager’s desk or just go for the kick the door open and flip the bird on the way out?
(I’m obviously kidding)
When I leave my job, I leaving via the emergency exit right next to my office. I will then FINALLY shop at the Goodwill store below my office.
Take a big dump on his desk!!!
Staple your resignation letter to a big bag of dog shit, drop it on his desk & light it on FIRE!
Isnt your manager your dad? or was that someone else?
Definitely not me.
You’re thinking of CarvinBass. His dad works for him!
Is this your new “ZANE!” ?
TAKE IT
carpe pisces!…no but really…the only way to have regrets is not siezing oppertunities when made present. Do not fear change, fear stagnancy.
This is solid advice.
Congrats!
Today’s high is 97 with 80% humidity. Today is a great to to avoid the sun.
Yuck! Sounds like today is a great day to avoid the everything.
Just got a Google Calendar reminder! I supposed to be at a 2 hour long outdoor concert this evening! SHIT!
Let’s go live to Bagel Bruin:

My cube at work is currently 79 with 40% humidity….if it hits 80 im writing an email that i cant work under htese conditions and working from home. the conditions outside are nicer than in my office. Not. Cool.
Morning, pals!
BULLET POINTS:
Wow, there are a lot more bullets there than I thought I had in me. Sorry, guys.
This was one wild ride today. I’m so sorry for your cousin. That sounds horrible. I’m sad now thinking about that.
Wearing an ice hockey or in line girdle might make it easier to get out of your comfort zone. Falling does hurt!
Actually feels good. That ice cools you. It’s like freezing or something.
-Condolences to you and and you’re cousin and the whole family. Absolutely awful.
-Man, you’ve been having a crazy week. Hopefully this weekend you can relax and enjoy an adult beverage or five
-Uh, it takes you this long to write a list about how long it takes you do things?
-Yay, more draft profiles!
wow…that was a lot to take in and im just sitting here reading it. Hope you are holding up ok with everything.
