First, you have to climb a set of stairs outside the building, then another once inside to get to the seated portion of the rink. In the downstairs area there is a skate rental kiosk. Upstairs, there is cafe like seating and an interesting bear sculpture behind glass. If you’re hungry for a bagel or in need of some water and Gatorade, you need not worry- they have a stand for that.
Half of the current camp roster in camp practiced during this session. Notable participants: Matt Beleskey, Torey Krug, Adam McQuaid, John-Michael Liles, Ryan Spooner, Brandon Carlo, Matt Grzcelcyk, Jesse Gabrielle, Peter Mueller (on a PTO), and these guys:
The team practiced for a little over an hour, performing various skill and skating drills. It was good to see them out on the ice because that means the season is around the corner.
Unfortunately, news broke this weekend that Frank Vatrano has torn ligaments in his left foot and will be out for at least three months. His surgery is scheduled for this morning. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery and do whatever you need to do (pray the Rosary, perform mitvzvahs, punish your liver by drinking heavily) to get him and yourself through this difficult time.
