Morning Free Association: December 2

Good morning everyone, today’s a regular MFA a I was so freaking busy I didn’t get a chance to think of a food association. (or post at all yesterday. Seriously I didn’t even take my 2pm break.)

Bruins won in a shootout vs the Carolina Hurricanes and based on reading twitter this morning they stole that game.

Can we just talk about how sweet this move is by Pasta?

We knew from the past that Dobby was pretty good. He legit challenged for the starting job in Carolina. It’s good to see him back to form.

This probably takes a lot of pressure off Tuukka, too. It’s gotta be rough when your team can only win when you’re in net – it had to make him feel like he couldn’t take a night off.

Looking for a movie to watch tonight. Any suggestions?

When in doubt, Deadpool. Great for anytime viewing.

What kind of movies you like? Theater or home rental?

I just watched “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” again… love that movie. “Snatch” and “RocknRolla”, as well.

All fantastic movies! I too was going to recommend Snatch.

Home rental. Though I should really do more theater movies seeing as live about 1/4 mile from a movie theater.

Satan 81's Sister

And you can drink booze in said theater!

DrHandgrenaid

close and you can drink there? That sounds like a perfect recipe for Bad Santa 2

Satan 81's Sister

Hahaha. Question, do I need to see Bad Santa 1? Or can I pretty much get the gist in the first few moments of Bad Santa 2?

Thetallest81

From what i heard, Bad santa 2 just basically took what made Bad Santa 1 funny and just revisited the humor. Kind of what Dumb and Dumber did….so my suggestion is see the first one and if you like it …see two with low expectations.

Thetallest81

Thetallest81

that said its not really my type of humor…so…i wouldnt really take time out to see it anyways.

Cant go wrong with some good ole classics… “Momento” has been itching for me to see again for some reason.

Satan 81's Sister

Oh man, been a long time since I’ve watched that one.

DrHandgrenaid

I don’t know. I haven’t seen 2 yet myself. I’m not optimistic, because comedy sequel, but the premise is basic enough: Billy Bo Thornton drunk in a Santa Suit, does naughty things whilst drunk in aforementioned Santa Suit. Hangs out with an angry little person and a dorky fat kid (dorky fat kid is dorky fat 20-something in the sequel, apparently)

Anton Blidh is on the ice for the Bruins as a fourth-line left wing. Patrice Bergeron is not out for practice.

Nothing about this tweet has me happy. Also, why not Cehlarik? He’s playing pretty well.

So, last night after watching a replay of the Alexander Hamilton “Drunk History” with Lin Manuel Miranda, I said to myself, “Fuck it. I’m going to sleep tonight. Coughing be damned, I will rest.” And for the most part, this work. Of course, when I woke up, I had a 10-minute coughing fit (with added gunk) but it was worth it. I hope to sleep again in the near future.

Drunk History is one of my favorite things. I’m excited for when that episode comes to Hulu.

Love Drunk History

I loved the Questlove bit with Tony Hale waving in the background.

Still kills me:

Also, I love Questlove.

That was good. I thought that was a good look for him.

Also, I loved Alia Shawkat as Hamilton. It’s like she was born to play him.

Oh I just realised it was a mini-Arrested Development reunion.

They all did a great job with it. Didn’t even realize it was Dave Grohl until the credits.

Neither did I.

Hi all, I’ve been b2bless for a while now, but never fear I still love you all. Some bullet points:
-Its started snowing inland here last week, but we pushed the field season to the brink- including sampling rocks and dirt in 5 inches of snow last Thursday
-I had to return my work truck to the depot yesterday, which punctuates the end of the season. Now I has a sad
-I may be on the brink of getting my boss fired, so thats a thing.
-Coffee and day off. Gotta get my car registered and some Christmas shopping done later.
-Saw the back half of the game last night. Nice scramble to tie it up, a shame it came to that. Nice pressure during OT, and somehow something good came out of an OT 3-man unit of Nash Backes and Morrow.
-Seriously Don, make Joe Morrow and Jimmy Hayes go away.
-That Pasta shitout (not a typo) goal was so beautifully shifty and casual. Ward had no hope of reading that. This is why he is scoring many goals.
-Seriously, other Bruins, score some fucking goals

HIIIII EVERYBODY!
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/simpsons/images/5/5e/Dr._Riviera.png

interesting changes to B2B, i feel like everything im writing is sarcastic till i hit enter.

Interesting game….i guess they deserve the extra point because of the last non extra point win, it was nice for Doby to get the W. Some more curious calls by the reffing…on the plus side on that last goal i was totally expecting a coaching challenge and remembered they couldnt!!! They used it because of the iced puck time out yay!

I was in boston the other night for the animals as leaders show…the Royale is a really really sweet venue, if you ever have the chance to go see a show there i highly recommend it. Good sound staging, close feel, nice atmosphere.

Buying a house is exhausting. that is all.

Buying a house IS exhausting! Now all the work starts and I feel it will be no less exhausting.

That has become the best thing about opposition time-outs – the relief that there will be no coaches challenge!

I think it was you I was talking to about Joe Hill? I was ecited to find Nos4r2 in the library yesterday – that’s Xmas reading sorted !!

I feel like with all the house buying going on here, that we, too, should buy a house. We already have, though. Bummer.

@NickBadgio @djva73 @BearlyonTopic you fellas are focused. We like that concept. We also like the word obsessed. Nice job

That was totally out of the blue.

Focused, heh. I guess I did an amazing job of editing to seem that way. Actually, I think we’re more scattered when I’m in the mix. Maybe I like chaos. Or maybe I’m actually fun.

Are they saying we’re word-obsessed and they like us for that? Or they like the word, obsessed?

I’ve been a huge fan since I was 12 years old. Their last album, even if you are not a hockey fan, is splendid.

Their first album also has a cool 90s garage rock vibe, because it was recorded in a garage in the 90s.

Listened to us last night. I’d forgotten completely about Slave Leia Jimmy Hayes. I see why you were flabbergasted

You took away a moment from my childhood and replaced it with extreme discomfort. I will never forgive you. You owe me a drink.

I cut out about 10 minutes of long silences. I’m going to crack the whip this weekend.

I realize the silences were a pain in the ass for you, but I felt it improved the rest of our content.

Dead air is bad for listeners. It’s worse on radio.

It’s just hard to edit an episode that I haven’t been on, so it took a longer time than I like. Also, I had no outside outlet (it was raining and I felt like crap), so editing became a kind of internal torture.

It’s all good.

The Once and Future Bagel Bruin
Member

For an outsider, that editing would be VERY tough. Thank you again for editing. This week is hectic, and next week will be too. Normalcy returns 12/10/2016.

DrHandgrenaid
Editor

Oh, absolutely, dead air is bad. I just mean it had us keep our thoughts more organized. A little. Maybe. Kinda. I dunno.

The Once and Future Bagel Bruin

I rather have dead air than noisy rambling to edit out. Live radio, NOISE PLEASE. But we’re not the radio. We’re Bearly on Topic, a podcast by Bruins fans for Bruins fans.

the german hammer
Admin

The areas in which everyone talks over each other, I always want to just take out, but then someone will say something in that that will tie to something right after that is non-garbled and I have to leave it in. I hate that.

This has been “Hot Editing Talk”.
