Morning Free Association: January 5

Yesterday was a day filled with Bruins news, both of loss and eventual gain.

Lifelong Bruins, Milt Schmidt passed away at the age of 98. Some members of the Bruins organization released some statements about Schmidt.

Backup goaltender Anton Khudobin was waived by the team.

Claude spoke with the media about the statuses of injured players David Backes, John-Michael Liles, and Matt Beleskey.

Backes addressed the media after practice:

We’ll see what happens before the game.

And now for something completely different:

Sooooo i have a spare ticket and I’m open to the idea of someone willing to hook me up on a blind date with a cute (Preferably British, due to the venue) female in the CT area that would enjoy being my date to Monty Python & holy grail screening w/ John Cleese on stage in Hartford. Do we have any takers?

Disclaimer #1: Though i am relatively “normal” i must warn about the possible amount of insufferable nerdom surrounding us that may have to be put up with.

Disclaimer #2: I am sorry in advance about hartford, its quite unpleasant.

Disclaimer #3: I am sorry for lack of legroom, i kind of take it all up.

Disclaimer #4: Llamas.

That is all.

Craig Cunningham had to have some of his leg amputated to prevent infection during his recovery:

Morning, peeps.

  • It’s late.
  • Dentist appointment this morning. Finally, she says everything is stable and she doesn’t want to see me for six months, with the exception of the stupid thing she wants to check up on next month. And she thinks I should have my wisdom teeth pulled. At 35.

  • Bummed about Mr. Bruin, he was a most excellent guy by all accounts.
  • I love Khudobin, but it was time.
  • We really need to shake this team up. Stale.

Enjoy the game. It’s got the ingredients to be a good one, as long as the Bruins turn up. Whereabouts are your seats?

Have you got Battlefield 1? It’s fun, but more arcade-y than I was expecting.

We’re in 307. First time up high actually. There’s no bad seats at a hockey game though lol.

I don’t. I only have Halo 5 & Destiny so far for the One

Not since they tore down the Auld Gahden.

Also, Barclays is pretty bad from what I hear

I’ve been there! It’s certainly unconventional but our seats were pretty good – sort of in a corner block. In fact we were on the same level as the radio commentators, who are much lower than at most arenas.

The atmosphere was pretty good too.

    307 is where I live – row 12! Ben is in 306. Row 9 I think? Maybe?

I will not be in attendance. Enjoy!

I asked him if he’d be there tonight too, nope, sold those tickets haha

It’s a good thing he’s not going. The Bruins have lost all the games he’s gone to. smile

While I do want him back in the lineup ASAP and I’m stoked (does anyone even use that word anymore?) he’s practicing again, I’m fine with him taking a few extra days since concussions ain’t nothing to fuck with.

You’re quite right – definitely don’t want him coming back too soon

You would be shelling out the big bucks then. Three rinks in town (four surfaces) including an outdoor rink, Simsbury Farms. Plenty of disc in the neighborhood, as well. Check out Westminster School’s hockey schedule – great, free hockey!!!

Short work day because of our flight to Texas tonight. Busy day as a result. Have a great weekend if I don’t come back here today!

Greetings from cold and snowy Denver.

I’m really glad we left a day early; shit’s bad out here. Can’t wait to experience the whole 3 degrees Fahrenheit when we walk to the conference. Whee.

It is! These days are pretty uncommon, but they suck when they happen. Everything at our conference is delayed, too. Woof.

So our new office manager is off to a great start. Her email ended up with malware so she has a new folder called “scrotum master” that has messed up her email.

‘scrotum master’, the scrotum exercise machine?
Tell her to stay away from it, yeah it looks good on TV, but it’s a total ripoff.

Ripping off one’s scrotum seems… drastic

“I just don’t have enough time in the day to exercise my scrotum.”
“Try the all new scrotum master! Just five minutes a day will give your scrotum more tone and definition!”

I always thought that Suzanne Somers was a curious choice as a TV spokesperson for that product.
