Morning Free Association: January 13 – Tuukka Turmoils via Twitter

Carvinbass18 is on vacation, so in lieu of the Morning Food Association, I give you
“The Tuukka Traviata: An Opera in Twitter Parts”

Bruins nation now needs new underpants.

Also last night — the officials allowed Adam McQuaid to fight Derek Grant!

Perhaps this was not as good an idea as Grant thought it was when he started

Have you heard something?

I have heard many, many things.

But the relevant things are that Amalie and Fluto reported a half hour ago that he was on the ice for practice today

That was the kind of something I was asking about. Good to hear!

Sounds good. You reminded me I meant to look up what Poutine is after it being mentioned here a lot. Cheesy chips with gravy! I’ll be giving that a go!

Good morning folks

  • i’ll be back with a food pairing next week i promise
  • last night was fun to watch. The robbery on Spooner late in the game was something else
  • Nashville flat out won that one though. It was a game Boston should have won, but they didn’t play down to the competition & competed hard, cant win them all
  • woke up this morning to a voicemail saying i had some potential fraudulent charges. Oh yeah and then some. Only $500 worth. Luckily the big $367 charge was flat denied, but a couple of small ones got through, now gotta dispute that with the bank. Shouldn’t be a problem though as i’ve never been to california haha
  • had a good night at trivia last night. Finished 2nd, but could have won. Funny story, the last question is like jeopardy where you can wager up to 25 points & it’s 5 facts about a year. For the past month plus our trivia guy has mostly done the 00’s (with some 70’s mixed in) and our answer falls on ’06, never been it. Well last night we got our clues & two of us thought it was ’02, but during deliberations Em goes “it can’t be ’06 right? No way” and after going with ’02 SOM’BITCH IT WAS ’06! Classic

Shortly after the Bruins lost the 2013 Finals, someone in Chicago spent about $1000 at a Home Depot in Chicago. I got my money back, but I can’t help but think it was Kane.

    Hello.

That was a fun game, but would have been more fun with a couple more Bs goals.

That lad in net had unbelievable reactions, though, to give him his due.

I can’t understand why any goalie wouldn’t wear one of those dangly throat protectors. Not saying it would have saved Tuukka yesterday, but even so. Saros had one, I noticed.

It snowed yesterday! A carpet of about an inch or so, much to Baby Bear’s delight. Amazingly the trains were on time this morning – they aren’t usually even without snow!

USA Hockey and NFHS (high school) require the flapper style throat protector. NCAA and NHL do not.

Maybe the dangling annoys him? I don’t know. Saros sure had a good night, McIntyre was solid as well.

    Maybe the dangling annoys him?

I did think of that, but surely if he can get used to playing while dressed head to toe in massive padding, he can get used to a dangler?

Zane did a decent job but considering going 10-0-0 in AHL he does seem to make his share of mistakes. Is AHL standard so much lower? maybe P-Bruins defence are extremely good?

There is a dramatic increase in speed and creativity from A to N.

It would be nice to see a bit more AHL, but I would need a few more hours in the day, even if there were anywhere to watch it…

Funny how some guys can come up and look right at home straight away and others never really adapt. Same with players coming from Europe – Tarasenko was very good in KHL but he’s even better in NHL!

AHL play is training oriented. You see the systems that the parent club wants a player to know, play in. Sometimes that is stifling for the creative player. Some players need a system to play in.

Im optimistic about Hag’s “news” however, it coming from Hags…Tuukka prolly actually said “I’m going, get out of my way” not “I’m going to be okay” and Tuukka wont be back in a few games.

A potential game of telephone involving Tuukka Rask sounds excellent.

    Good Morning Friends!
If today was a Food Association, I’d go for tacos! Tuukka doubled over. Grant folding up like a soft taco after that uppercut, you get the idea.
Bruins need to score! Fuckin’ Saros. He’d be a great fantasy league pick up, if he played more often.
Kayak roll practice tonight!!! Also, my youngest’s birthday. He’s 39? WTF? Anyway, we’re taking him and his GF out for dinner (mexican), then they are coming to roll practice (okay, picture this: you just ate a burrito and had a couple margheritas, now you are upside down in a boat in the water. I’m not a good parent). It’s all in a really warm pool with a bunch of nutty people in kayaks – what could go wrong?
I’m responding to RICE! Slowly, but surely.
    Coffee.
