As anyone who has been watching the Bruins this season can attest, they are wildly inconsistent. Is this a coaching problem? A player problem? A group leadership problem? A combination of all three? Who knows for sure. But, what we do know is that when these issues arise, even with a team still in the playoff structure (although Toronto is just behind with 6 games in hand on Boston), the coach will get the ax.
Does he deserve it? Maybe. But, management will want to do something to make a statement and a short-term course correction, which will very likely include the firing of Claude Julien. So, what can we do? We can argue among ourselves and wring our hands. Or we can wring some grim humour out of the situation and amuse ourselves in a bad situation. So, with that I present the pool for when Claude will get fired. Pick a time, I will update the board as quickly as I can.
Full disclosure: I’m hoping this will have the opposite effect; I think firing Claude is a bad idea right now. I hope this sacrifice I make will result in his retention.
