Morning Free Association: Surgery Buddies

Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron and goaltender Tuukka Rask each underwent successful surgeries this week. Bergy had a sports hernia with which he played the entire season. Tuukka had a groin injury that plagued him early. While it was assumed Bergy would go under the knife, it seemed that Tuukka’s injury was downplayed at the end of the season, that perhaps some rest would do the trick. Regardless, both are expected back in time for the start of the next season.

Heaven and Eddie Shore help me! I am headed to a family wedding this weekend. I am driving with my mom, and she is not used to staying in hotels, eating at restaurants or interacting with drunk people. My brother is coming with his girlfriend, and all he’s talked about is about how much he is not looking forward to this wedding.

Should be a great weekend! grin

Often when you have very low expectations – that’s when you have the best times!

In my experience weddings for which one has low expectations do not fail to unimpress.

Well, until your youngest brother/ the best man headbutts the Bride’s cousin and then the cops show up….

Yeah, that’ll make an impression… or at least leave a mark!

Hooray low expectations!

You might be onto something though. I had high expectations for the wedding I attended last weekend and it was horrible.

Morning, pals!

Successful surgeries for our friends Tuukka and Bergy. A+.
I skated for an hour last night and woke up with ZERO knee pain. Are we living in bizarro world?

The Sens are going to get ROCKED in the conference final, I think. Absolutely owned. Someone is going to catch on to that whole “we need to stop Karlsson” idea, and then it’s all over. They’re a one trick pony.
I haven’t watched hockey since attending the Bruins’ last game. Conference Finals are a good time to return.
Comey. Wow. Don’t like the guy, but the timing certainly raises some questions. Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark.

Got rid of the trainwreck of a new kid yesterday. Felt terrible doing it, but feel much less stressed today. Dead weight be gone!
I would like to reiterate that I had ZERO knee pain upon waking up today. ZERO! AHHHHHHHH

D’ya think? Comey gets fired right before Secretary of State TillersonExxon meets with Russian Foreign Minister Larvrov, who sarcastically says “Was he fired? You’re kidding!” when asked about it. And today TrumpNixon v.2.0 is meeting with Lavrov & Russian ambassador Kislyak (the same guy whose conversations with former National Security Advisor Flynn got Flynn fired).
Publicly, the Trump administration has been saying that Comey was fired over his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, but the letter in which he was fired makes no mention of that. It does, however, make an oblique reference to the Russian hacking investigation.
The firing also came hours after the news broke that several of Flynn’s associates had been subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury. And it has been reported (denied by Trump, of course) that Trump was advised to fire Comey by his good buddy Roger Stone, who is also under investigation for his ties to Russia.
Makes you wonder who really ordered the firing… Trump… or PUTIN?
What do you wanna bet that the first thing the guy Trump appoints to replace Comey does is kill the investigation? Rumor has it that Chris Christie & Rudy Guiliani are among the candidates being considered for the job.

Also, both Press Secretary Spicer and W.H. Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee started pitching the idea that #TrumpRussia was over and America should “move on”.

This has been a big week for Comey & Trump. Subpoenas (and seemingly indictments) are starting to come out of the empaneled grand juries, and Comey was asking for additional funds for the investigation. This coupled with the stress of the Yates testimony and the Senate Finance Committee requesting Trump records from Treasury Dept, puts a LOT of stress on the Trump Administration to do something – anything – to derail the investigation.

Rudy Guiliani is an interesting case – because there is also a rumor that he is a witness/accomplice in a money laundering case that dates back to his Mayoral election campaign – when Trump was in bed with the NJ mob and his connection to it was buried by the NY Prosecutor’s office. This is one of the things the current AG is believed to be sniffing around. So while Rudy is ostensibly a loyal Trump lackey, he seems to have a big incentive to flip in favor of covering his own ass.

Morning all. Instead of actually getting work done, I’ve spent my entire morning at work so far dealing with computer issues. Everything seems to be working again so maybe I can finally get stuff done.

Hey Pals!
The Tootsies! There may be a whole lot of smoke and mirrors in their game, but they’re in the ECF.
Oh, and still no crown for King Henrik, who looked pretty mortal last night.
Here’s a surprise: I don’t feel like working today.
Great hockey night tonight!!!!!

Morning all

  • I’m on some much needed 5 hours OT, which is great news.
  • Surprised a bit to see Tuukka had surgery, but with the constant he’s dealing with a LBI / groin issue, I’m also not surprised. I don’t remember it being serious enough to need surgery, but, get well soon Tuukka!
  • Well, we now have two teams in the conference finals. What the hell New York??
  • Tonight’s game should be a boat load of fun too. Go Caps!
  • Spent some time last night with a few friends, played Clue. Good lord is Em good at Clue. I don’t think she’s lost a game yet.
