The Providence Bruins handily defeated the Hershey Bears to advance to the conference final against the Syracuse Crunch.
Danton Heinen has had a great run in the Calder Cup playoffs with 5 goals and 10 points in 11 games. Hopefully he continues to shine bright through the remaining games.
P-Bruins goaltender Zane McIntyre had this to say about their success:
.@ZanoInsano_29 on @AHLBruins' big win: "We knew what we wanted to do, what we wanted to execute. I think there was a level of confidence." pic.twitter.com/LQkCVmhulx

@ZanoInsano_29 @AHLBruins McIntyre cont.: "It was trusting our system, trusting ourselves, having accountability that the guy next to you is going to do his job."

They have made a remarkable run this season and it has a lot to do with the players. There are a lot of fresh, first-year pros in the system right now that are getting the job done in Providence. It will only be a matter of time before they move up and improve on and with the big club.

Pasta’s Czechs and Charlie Mac’s USA both trailing 2-0 late in the quarter-finals of the worlds, but the preliminary round saw lots of late comebacks …
I wish I could go to some bar or something to watch GER-CAN game today. It’s on NHL Network which I could watch at home except it’s a million degrees here. I might just go see a movie.
I’m excited about the P-Bruins and am weighing going to the game tomorrow night.
Ok…im just gonna get this out of the way now….its really bothering me that they just defeated a team in Hershey and NOW is when they play a team called “Crunch”….talk about missed opportunities Hershey.
Cross marketing, baby!
Syracuse is a tough opponent with their team captain Bradley Biggle.
Mint-Berry Crunch is the superhero alter-ego of Bradley Biggle. He is a member of the superhero group Coon and Friends. Crunch plays a significant role in the episode “Coon vs. Coon & Friends”.
Biggle’s neighbor and oft time ally is the Lehigh Valley Phantoms’ own Mysterion
Who
Is
Mysterion?
Is he a member of Question Mark and the Mysterians?
You gotta remember that they’re from Pennsetucky; so although they spell it the Hershey Bears, it should be pronounced like it was the Hershey Bars.
I will be listening to Audioslave today.
I found out today they made more than one album. Will be seeking out the other two.
RIP Chris Cornell. Soundgarden may not have been the biggest of the “Seattle sound” bands, but they were the best (IMHO).
Morning all. Tried to have a relaxing time when I got home from work yesterday but first I had to go on a murderous rampage and kill two wasps that were in my apartment. Then I had to deal with my bank thinking there was a fraudulent charge on my card. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Wasps? Ugh I hate it when my in laws from Connecticut show up but I’ve never gone so far as to kill them.
Hello people,
Great stuff Baby Bs. Good to see the youngsters getting some playoff experience.
What about the Sens? It wouldn’t have needed much to go a little differently and Boston would have won that series. Would the Bs have done this well in the subsequent series?
I remember lots of people expecting Ottawa to fall down the standings for a lot of the season. Could it be that they’re just badly underrated? Admittedly, I haven’t watched any of their games since the first round, so they could just be getting lucky for all I know.
Chris Cornell dies. That’s sad – even more so as they now think it may have been suicide
Rolling Stone posted an interesting article about his music:

High school me is sad today.
Ottawa is much more than the trap. You want grit? They have it in spades. Really, they remind me of all those Devil teams that won Cups. Great defense, great goaltending, counterattack and (pay attention here, Bruins) CAPITALIZE WHEN YOU HAVE SCORING CHANCES!!!!!!!!!!
I just updated this article: added P-Bruins ECF schedule
Go P-Bruins!
I’m as close to Syracuse as I am to Providence.! Tuesday the 30th is probably my best shot for Providence.
Hey Pals!
Hooray for the Baby Bs! Gotta try to make it to a game in the finals!!!!
I got the water turned on at the Unibomber cabin yesterday!!! – That after patching, turning water on, finding more leaks, draining system – lather, rinse repeat. The plumbing has more patches than it does plumbing!
Anyhooo, we can stay there now!!!! (A step above camping – albeit a small a small step.)
Talked to one of my schedulers about hanging up the skates. He says “don’t hang ’em up” , he’ll find games I’m comfortable doing.
Wish I was going back today – it was a lil cooler up there with a nice breeze.
Most coffee!!! That’s right!!!!
