2017 NHL Entry Draft Thread!

woooooo entry draft!

It’s draft day! Will the Bruins keep their #18 pick or move it for Scandella? Will they draft that Oettinger goalie guy? Stay tuned!

Live coverage is on NBC Sports Network, starting at 6:30pm EST. I think the first pick happens sometime after 7pm. Just the first round tonight. Rounds 2 through 7 tomorrow.

Here’s the Red Line Report’s top 32 prospects. Kirk Luedeke of Red Line likes center Lias Andersson at the #18 spot if the Bruins don’t move the pick. Consensus at Red Line for #18 is right winger Elias Petterson.

Assuming they don’t make any more moves, the Bruins picks are:

Round 1: #18
Round 2: #53 (from EDM)
Round 3: nada
Round 4: #111
Round 5: nothin’
Round 6: #173
Round 7: #195 (from FLA), #204

The B’s have Edmonton’s 2nd rounder (#53) as compensation for Edmonton signing Peter Chiarelli.
The B’s 2nd rounder (#49) went to New Jersey in the Lee Stempniak deal. Jersey subsequently moved that pick to San Jose.
The B’s 3rd rounder (#80) went to Philly in the Zeke Remaldo trade. Here’s everyone’s chance to whine about it all over again.
The B’s 5th rounder (#142) went to Carolina in the Jean-Michael Liles trade. Carolina traded it to Vegas for “expansion draft considerations”.
The B’s acquired Florida’s 2017 7th rounder in exchange for the B’s 2016 7th rounder. I’d love to know why trades like this happen.

Guy Boucher’s attention to defensive detail makes what he does sound interesting. It’s not. #JustSayNoToTheTrap
