The Boston Bruins roster is beginning to take shape. Yesterday, Tommy Cross and Jordan Szwarz were sent down to Providence joining others teammates sent down on Sunday. Last week, Cédric Paré and Jack Studnicka were returned to their junior teams.
First round of Boston cuts: Blidh, Cave, Gabrielle, Hickman, McIntyre, Senyshyn, Zboril, Breen, Clifton, Hargrove, Doherty, Porter to Prov

Cross and Szwarz still have to clear waivers to get to the Providence Bruins camp. Malcolm Subban is still in the Boston camp and saw game action last night. He would also need to clear waivers to get to the P-Bruins.
Malcolm Subban starts for Boston. Waivers needed to get him to Prov this season

There are two more games to be played and more decisions to be made but it looks like this team will have plenty of youth.
Let’s talk about last night’s game.
No Toews. No Kane. No Keith. While Chicago was clearly testing their younger players, Cassidy rolled out his new look first line of Marchand-Bergeron-Bjork, which looks like a good one.
In the first 10 minutes of the game, three Bruins scored: David Pastrnak (0:52), Jeremy Lauzon (1:28), and Anders Bjork (9:46).

It’s nice to have some fire power, even against the other teams scrubs.
That’s not to say that they’re weren’t some clunky shots. Noel Acciari was storming toward an open side of the net on a breakaway but managed to lift the pass high and wide. Even Bjork had a similarly good opportunity but failed shot. But they got it down, even with Ol’ Man Bergeron putting the bow on the package with a power play goal.

As for Malcolm, he wasn’t perfect but he looked pretty solid through much of the game.
That was seriously the best that Malcolm Subban has looked in his five years with the organization. Save after save. Chants of "Suuuu."

After watching some of these youngsters play, I think this season is going to be fun.
Matt Kalman wrote about the Malcolm situation.
He followed this up with a FB only post:
ive never been a big fan of kalman logic.
Interesting. For the record there is one back-to-back in October, but even so it might not be a bad idea.
I didn’t see the third period last night, but I thought Malcolm was really solid through the first two, and he saw plenty of action in the first half of the second period.
Every time he’s been called up he’s been a disaster (has he finished a game he started yet?) so if they don’t do something with him this year they’ve got to let him go surely? Especially with Zane-o and Vladar on the radar. (That was not an attempt at a rhyme – they don’t rhyme, I know
Yeah, Kalman realizes his mistake about the back-to-backs.
Yeah, I wanted him to be Darth Vladar. Still, Vladar (Vladash!) is fun to say.
Just as long as he doesn’t go spearing anyone. Then, he’d be forever known as Vladar the Impaler. Or since this is Boston, “Vlad-ah the Impale-ah”.
Hey, I don’t know if you caught this last night: on the broadcast during one of the intermissions, they had a golf cart confessional from Brick’s new golf show in which Beleskey told Bob Sweeney that he partially tore one and sprained another knee ligament last season which caused him to be out for 23 games and to look awful for more. He said they advised against surgery because it wasn’t torn enough. He still has some tightness in the knee as well. I think it’s going to be a tough year for him just because it takes more than a year to return to form after a ligament tear.
You know, when you said that yesterday, I thought you meant that he did it last night
My bad- it was on TV and he was golfing when he said it.
I’m having Piefest! on November 18th. I have to figure out the best method of invite since half of my friends use FB, half don’t, Instagram has no function, Twitter is terrible, and does anyone actually respond to Evite? I miss the old days in which I would illustrate an invitation, copy it and send it out, people would respond and we’d have a great party.
Yay pie party!

SO IM FLYING BACK TO CT ON THE 17th….I MAY MAKE THIS…..i may also be dead tired….not sure…ill let you know.
You should probably take a plane and not just strap feathers to your arms. That would make you less tired.

Lauzon is adorable, he likes to play physical, “You know, with a hedge”.
hey all, wanted to say hi while im here (and yet not here). Wish i caught the game….things sounds optimistic about the kids….and thats saying something with all the bloptimism last year.
Cannot wait till regular season.
Last weekend of Big E this weekend, any takers?
I could on Saturday.
I think I can too. I think.
To sway you: they have amazing poutine there. And goats!
Lets be honest…they have pretty much anything you could ever dream of eating there.
Damnit, I failed miserable at planning life this month.
Morning all. Already over this day. Seems like it’s going to be a FIX ALL THE PROBLEMS day. Weeeeeeeeee!
From the HEOTP game thread last night:
Hahaha!
Still, I guess it’s kind of inevitable Price will carry them and we’ll be wondering how such a bad team can win so many games.
The way it’s looking, Price will need to have a Vezina-caliber season in order to get the Habs into the playoffs. That team has no depth, half a defense, and disorganization in their top two lines. Maybe Hudon and Mete can step up to help them, but that team appears to be in serious trouble. They do have about $6mil in cap space, so maybe they can make a move or two.
Price will Carey them ***
I was at the game last night! Some observations:
– That Bjork kid is legit. He’s a natural fit on the Bergeron and Marchand line. He also has that “puck always follows him” quality. Lots of hustle, lots of hockey sense.
– Malcolm wasn’t perfect, but that might have been the best game I’ve seen him play. Still Dobber’s job to lose, but Malcolm may yet have a future.
– There were things to like about Lauzon and O’Gara, but they’re definitely still learning. I don’t expect any regular action from them until at least next season.
– I don’t remember much of anything from Grzelcyk at all.
– Spooner had a good game. Backes had a better game than he did on Tuesday. Beleskey looked decent out there.
– Fitzgerald, Kuraly, Acciari, Schaller…eh. They had a hard time generating any chances when they had the puck in the offensive zone, but they did a good job of getting the other team to dither about in their own end. In short, they did totally normal 4th line stuff. We’ll end up with a passable 4th line for sure.
– Overall our game along the boards was really good.
– Did DeBrincat play last night? Huh. Box score says he played for 16min. I had no idea.
Bjork seems like a keeper.

I thought O’Gara would be closer to NHL ready than he is, but he’s still young.
Is the Swedish Chef tossing Michael Jackson heads in that GIF?
Do you not recognize Icelandic singing sensation and right wing, Bjork?
OK, that makes more sense. Today is Monday for me, so I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed.
O’Gara is 24!!!!
Crap, I thought he was 21!
Good morning, pals!
This sounds like the kind of thing that makes the rest of the year bearable.
The Gold is far too yellow! And yeah, the old numbers were better.
I keep wondering why they are wearing knock-off jerseys.
That’s what they look like, yeah! Those Chinese ones you see on ebay
The think line of black on the lettering made them easier to read. Now it’s like reading things written in French’s mustard. Yuck.
A gameday roster for the NFL is 45 players, they make 8 players inactive each game. Every one of those players will see action during the game.
Needs to be a college football roster like Ohio U has – pretty much everyone in the Buckeye State is on their roster!
Good morning, Pals!
How smooth was that pass Bergy sent to Bjork? That was like mayonnaise! Fuckin’ smooth!
Championship of the Universe in Danbury tonight (D league final)!!!!! I’m bringing a big block of cheese. I’m going to have the scorekeeper hold it up every time he hears some w(h)ine..
Just showing myself out….. with a mug of coffee!
Mayonnaise slimy and gross. I will not have Bergy associated with such vile stuff. #TeamNoMayo
