Morning Free Association: Injury Reports

Tuukka Rask returned to practice and could return to game action as soon as Thursday against the San Jose Sharks.

“It’s been a good few days,” said Rask, who has not had any prior diagnosed concussions. “Skated [Monday] a little bit, today ramped it up a little more. [I’ll] go through the concussion computer test and get cleared and we’ll talk tomorrow.

“If I feel good I’m gonna go out there. Why not, right? I just gotta pass that test. Hopefully my baseline wasn’t too high.”

Tuukka spent time talking to the press this morning after practice. He said that this was his first diagnosed concussion and seems to think that he has bounced back pretty quickly from his concussion.

In other injury news, Kevan Miller was spotted on the ice with the red no-contact jersey yesterday morning during practice. He, like David Krejci (upper body injury), is day-to-day.

Adam McQuaid has had successful surgery on his right fibula and will likely be out for at least 8 weeks.

While we’re on the subject of injuries, an orthopedic surgeon/Boston sports fan has started a blog giving some insight into injuries on Boston sports team. Here’s his post about the McQuaid injury:

Morning all,

Just popping in quickly because again there’s too much week in this week.

Does anyone know if we are playing Florida anytime soon? Surely we could win against them if Niemi is in net, right? RIGHT?

(Late) Morning, pals!

  • I’m late!
  • Had to pack, so I stayed up late.
  • Stayed up late, so I got to work late.
  • Playing catch-up, so I’m saying hello late!
  • Luckily those are the only kinds of late I’m dealing with! Hahahahah

  • Anyway. I’m glad Tuukka could be back. Sounds like he will.
  • Habs won, and I’m convinced it’s specifically because I declared that I was benching Price.

Aw, Fats Domino dies. I was listening to one of his albums yesterday. Kind of assumed he’d gone already.

Awww. I recently saw a documentary that showed him being rescued from his house during Katrina. That’s the only reason I knew he was still around.

Robert Guillaume (star of the ’70s sitcom Benson) died too.

All is well. Galchenyuk is a wing. Pachioretty is a terrific leader. Shea Weber is elite and will play forever.

All I know about their forwards is that I’m about to drop Brendan Gallagher from my fantasy team.

Don’t forget “we don’t need Markov”, and “Jordie Benn and Joe Morrow were great pickups!”

Jordie is a stupid name and probably the number one reason I wouldn’t have him on my team.

This is the only Geordi worth caring about:

And apparently his full name Phillip Jordan Ellis Benn. How many names does one person need?!? Quit hogging all the names Phillip!

You should do some research and see if they’re back to declaring they’re going to win their TWENTY-FIFTH STANLEY CUP this year.

    Good Morning!

-I am not as tired as I should be given the amount of sleep I got last night. I’m just going to ride this non-tired wave as long as it lasts today.
-Not that anyone cares and I’m a day late, but I’m guessing Dodgers in 6 for the World Series. This was my prediction before they won last night. I stand by it.
-I love listening to the rain fall, especially when there hasn’t been a good rainy day in a while.
-I actually just love the occasional rainy day – even if it’s on the weekend.
-Oh Bruins Hockey, where art thou?
    -Oh right, they’re all broken.
-Time to end this crazy thought train.

    Happy Wednesday Everyone!

    Hi folks,

Only one more day till a Bs game! I’m not even going to bother researching how good the Sharks are so far, because quality of opposition seems to have no bearing on the Bruins’ chance of victory …

Booo – the Habs won last night. Had to happen some time but still disappointing.

My darts team have injury issues of our own. Our chief pest seems to have broken his little finger. Luckily you don’t need to use your little finger to throw so we’ll dope him up and send him out! We’ll need him at his most pesty tonight as we’re playing a really good team. I’d call him the Marchand of our team, but he’s not good enough of a player for that comparison …

On tap – much beer (once I get out of the office)!

Question: How does one be a pest at darts?

    The London Bear

Similar to hockey really! Chirping, being mouthy, overly-exuberant celebrations – but not while the other team are throwing – we don’t outright cheat. And nothing physical, of course.
He does occasionally need reminding it’s only the other team he’s supposed to be putting off, though!

    morning all,
Would be nice to see the full roster healthy and see how they compete…..i guess till then….it is what it is. This schedule sucks. Second year in a row with a soft start and a fucking ridiculous makeup time period. Curious why this is the case….seems pretty unfair to the team to get to a point where they have to play back to backs for a month strait just because the scheduler is an ahole.
