It was kind of a weird hockey weekend.
On Friday night, news broke that three teams were perpetrating a trade deal that would send Matt Duchene to Ottawa, Kyle Turris to Nashville and unknown pieces to Colorado. Rumour was that Mattias Ekholm was to be part of the deal but the whole thing fell apart before the night’s end.
Things moved quickly Sunday during game action.
Matt Duchene just left the ice in NYI….The OTT/NASH/COL deal may be back on

This is nuts. As Blake Comeau helped off the ice, Matt Duchene sneaks off behind him as he’s been traded mid-game pic.twitter.com/cimyiRl2Vz

Yeah, Duchene left the ice after a now former teammate left the ice with an injury.
Duchene to OTT. Turris to NASH with a 6×6 extension. COL gets Girard, Kamenev, Bowers, Hammond, a 1st (OTT), a 2nd (NASH) and a 3rd (OTT).

Turris was in the last year of his deal with the Senators and was not expected to re-sign with them.
In the meantime, word is that the Bruins are working on trade deals, or at least putting the feelers out.
Was told by an NHL scout tonight the #NHLBruins have been “working hard” on the trade front. Nothing imminent, but deals are being discussed

Meanwhile in Montreal news: In an effort to get the fans to watch, Jonathan Drouin takes matters into his own hands and starts stripping on the bench.
