Morning Free Association: DeBrusk is back

Now we get to play the game of “Who is in and who is out tonight?” for the Bruins. Earlier yesterday, the Bruins Twitter account tweeted this:

Later, head coach Bruce Cassidy would explain that Torey Krug was taking a maintenance day and that Ryan Spooner was still dealing with a lower body injury. Apparently his right groin adductor injury (formerly a tear, no idea what it is now) is still nagging him. As a centerman, this has to be a particularly painful injury that won’t heal without a solid resting regimen. Cassidy said he was undergoing a re-evaulation.

Jake DeBrusk will be back tonight against the Arizona Coyotes. He’s been out for the past 3 games after suffering an upper body injury in the home game against Edmonton.

During his press conference, Cassidy addressed Adam McQuaid’s return. As many may know, he’s able to skate but hasn’t fully practiced with the team. Cassidy anticipates that McQuaid will be a full participant starting next week and they’ll determine his return from there.

We may soon see the team that should have taken the ice on their opening night in October for the first time this season. It only took about 9-10 weeks for that to happen. Better late than never.

Krug is in.

Hang on, was there any doubt over him?

Hard to keep a track of all the Bruins injuries!

Lined at the Berkshire School yesterday. I forgot that Killer played there ( class of 2007). Probably the best facility I’ve ever seen. Most colleges would be jealous.

This is nothing. My pals in the credit department got a cardboard fireplace.

That doesn’t sound very practical…

Aren’t they adorable? They came in a three pack from the dollar section at Target.

We are also watching The Year Without a Santa Claus, because I love Heat Miser and Snow Miser.

Cauliflower is going to regret the day he told me I was in charge of the TV.

Is the office Christmas dinner something to look forward to or to be endured?

It will be fun. We’re going to a good restaurant so yay free tasty dinner! And the restaurant is across the street from me so it’s an easy stumble home!

Hello!

Yotes. Bs are often guilty of playing down to their opponent but normally do enough against the desert dogs. I’ll stay up for the first period. It’s actually not a blackout game! Yay!

Debrusk’s had a great season so far. Sit Beleskey or Vatrano (if they aren’t sitting already).

As a centerman, this has to be a particularly painful injury

Spooner’s done some good things this year during his brief spells of good health. Hope he’s allowed the rest he needs, but he’s been played on the wing a bit hasn’t he? And doing alright.

Feeling surprisingly chipper today considering the amount of German beer I consumed at the London Christmas market yesterday. It’s become a tradition for me, Mrs B, my mom, dad and sister to meet up there one day a year. It’s great.

Yeah, I feel bad he’s been dealing with this injury because he has been decent this year.

At this point you kind of have to wonder if he’ll need surgery to fix it.

The Flyers game gave me some hope that maybe they have gotten this out of their system.

Hey Pals!
Again with the five games in 26 hours. Today I rest! (What an incredible happenstance!)
I’m off the ice until Saturday when I will line Avon Old Farms at Trinity Pawling. Avon just lost two kids to the National Player Development Team, but should still have enough firepower versus always speedy and tough, but less skilled TP.. At any rate, this assignment means that I haven’t been horrible enough to get the Gardner Ban. (AOF head coach John Gardner is a hockey demigod. If he doesn’t like your performance as an official during one of his games, you will never do another one.)
Nap time!!!!!!

It’s a made up date. Pearl Harbor Day. Still, a great day to celebrate!
