Now we get to play the game of “Who is in and who is out tonight?” for the Bruins. Earlier yesterday, the Bruins Twitter account tweeted this:
Torey Krug and Ryan Spooner absent from practice this morning. Jake DeBrusk is a full participant. #NHLBruins

Later, head coach Bruce Cassidy would explain that Torey Krug was taking a maintenance day and that Ryan Spooner was still dealing with a lower body injury. Apparently his right groin adductor injury (formerly a tear, no idea what it is now) is still nagging him. As a centerman, this has to be a particularly painful injury that won’t heal without a solid resting regimen. Cassidy said he was undergoing a re-evaulation.
Jake DeBrusk will be back tonight against the Arizona Coyotes. He’s been out for the past 3 games after suffering an upper body injury in the home game against Edmonton.
During his press conference, Cassidy addressed Adam McQuaid’s return. As many may know, he’s able to skate but hasn’t fully practiced with the team. Cassidy anticipates that McQuaid will be a full participant starting next week and they’ll determine his return from there.
We may soon see the team that should have taken the ice on their opening night in October for the first time this season. It only took about 9-10 weeks for that to happen. Better late than never.
