Morning Free Association: First Star of the Week

We have only a few more days of this hockey drought. Oh sure, there are games you can watch this week but everyone here loves watching the true black and gold team play it’s glorious goal laden (of late) brand of hockey. However, there was one missive sent out by the NHL on Monday that will be of interest, and of little surprise, to us all here.

Yes, our perfect top line centerman had an even better week than normal (he is Patrice Bergeron, which Brad Marchand believes is even better than most of Bergy’s achievements) with 7 points in 3 games, and 4 goals in just 1. We’re really lucky. Other stars of the week were Jonathan Bernier, who I had forgotten was in Colorado now, and Sidney Crosby. That stupid Sidney Crosby just can’t let Bergy enjoy anything on his own.

Congratulations, Patrice. I hope you’re getting the rest you need this week.
