Morning Free Association: The Second Half

Tomorrow night, the Boston Bruins are back on the ice in Montreal at the Centre Bell to start the second half of their season. Technically it’s still game 41 after the postponement of the FancyCats visit last week. Speaking of which, that game has been rescheduled.

Joe MacDonald of the Boston Sports Journal has outlined some key areas of importance that should be the focus of the Bruins going into the next part of the season. Here’s what he has to say:

This is a prime time to test Tuukka against the Habs. Do it Saturday!

I think as long as they can keep the injury bug at bay, give players proper maintenance days to prevent more, and as long as the young guys can overcome this lengthy season, the Bruins should be in good shape. As for trade dealine stuff- I’m fine if Sweeney doesn’t make any acquisitions. As intriguing as it would be to get Simmonds, I’d much rather work on getting that elusive and mythical left shot defenseman. I’m sure you all have different thoughts on that.

One last thing: Zdeno Chara is joining the social media world- Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Just wait for Haggs to write an article about how Chara is trying to start his real estate business or wants to be like Tom Brady or some crap.

Okay really, this is the last thing: Finally a new Bearly on Topic episode is out. We’re catching up with some stuff after our break.
