Game Day Thread: Bruins @ Devils — Destroy All Marchands

The Bruins will play the Devils tonight.
Last time the Bruins played the Devils, Brad Marchand’s elbow met a Devil’s skull, delivering a concussion.  But I’m sure there will be no additional repercussions from that…

As you may remember, on January 23rd, when last we played the Devils, Marchy was crashing the net and was confronted by Marcus Johansson. And while trying to put the puck on goal and tripping on the stick, he threw out an elbow, clipping Johansson in the side of the head, concussing him. Johanssen had previously been concussed, and is still on the injury report. Marchand would receive a 5 game suspension because of the incident. Johansson has started traveling with his team, but has not been playing.

In that very same game, primary goaltender Cory Schneider pulled his groin, and is also on IR.

And if you are living in a cave (hey, we’re hockey fans, it happens)

you may be unaware that long-time pest Alex Burrows received a 10 game suspension for kneeing Taylor Hall in the head at the end of a fight when Hall was on his back on the ice.
I can’t imagine that the Devils are at all cranky concerning the Bruins or Marchand after the past 3 weeks, right?

And how have the Bruins been?
When last we left our intrepid heroes, they had played the Buffalo Sabres, losing 4-2 and ending Tuukka’s amazing lossless streak.
Possessed the puck the Bruins did, but put it on net they did not.

The Bruins went 4-1 while Marchand (and McAvoy) was out. Kevan Miller has been out due to injury, but is no longer on IR. Given the success of Grzelcyk, there hasn’t been a rush to bring him back, even though he is technically no longer listed as injured.
