Well, I hope that no one stayed up to watch whatever that was on Saturday night in Vancouver. somehow, it turned out to be a worse game than I imagined, in the opposite way. You know it’s not a good game when Billy Jaffe advised in the intermission that the Bruins finish the game, get packed up, get onto the bus, and fly away to Calgary as soon as they could.
The team just looked like they weren’t ready to play. Tuukka was pulled at the end of the first with Dobby appearing in net to start the second. The team in front of Tuukka failed him. It would’ve been a shutout had Tim Schaller not mustered up that goal.
Today, the Bruins take on the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome at the odd time of 4pm EST/ 2pm MST (local time). While the US celebrates President’s Day (or not), Canada mostly has one as well; it’s name varies between provinces it’s mostly known as Family Day except for Manitoba (Louis Riel Day), Prince Edward Island (Islander Day), and Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia Heritage Day, often named for an important Nova Scotians). Somehow, 3 provinces do not currently observe this holiday on the third Monday of February.
So, yeah, weird time for a game, eh?
For those of you who are at work or busy at that time (4pm), NESN will replay the game at 8pm as Bruins in 2. If you would rather, we can set up a game thread for that time and watch together.
