Tonight, the Boston Bruins take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in game 3 of their first round Stanley Cup Playoff series. Boston leads the series 2-0 after a resounding win on Saturday night 7-3, a game in which David Pastrnak had a hat trick and a six-point night. Pasta is the youngest player to achieve this feat in a playoff game and only one of two Bruins to do so.
David Pastrnak (21 years, 324 days) of the @NHLBruins is the youngest player in NHL history to record 6+ points in a playoff game, eclipsing the mark set by Wayne Gretzky (22 years, 81 days) in Game 3 of the 1983 Division Finals (4-3—7 at CGY). #NHLStats #TORvsBOS #StanleyCup pic.twitter.com/rLWrPCm61H

David Pastrnak is the first Bruin to have at least three goals and six points in a playoff game since Phil Esposito in 1969. Just the second player in franchise history to accomplish such a feat.

Young David is in good company with regards to playoff hat tricks.
David Pastrnak hat trick. First Bruin with a playoff hat trick since David Krejci in Game 4 against the Maple Leafs in 2013.

Pasta’s line mates, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, each had a four-point night. Together that top line has 20 points in two games. Remember, they each had at least 30 goals during the regular season, so this is no surprise. Torey Krug had 3 assists in the first period alone. I figured that that deserved it’s own term:
@DrHandgrenaid have you had a Krugasm yet? 3 assists…in the 1st

Intentionally Widenberg and I were lucky enough to attend the game in person, with seats down in the lower bowl. When I looked above me, I saw some flags that indication that I was in the right sector of the Garden.

That been said, my boy Acciari had a rough night on the face-off dot. I certainly hope Riley Nash can play tonight. It turns out that with his injury that required sutures, he also had some concussion-like symptoms, which have kept him from playing and practicing. We’ll find more out during the day about the lineup.
Other fun facts:
Playoffs are fun this year!
I have a question:
I am having issues with this site – the page doesn’t show new comments unless I refresh it, and if I refresh, I have to log back in. Is anyone else having this problem, or do I have some sort of browser setting issue?
Thanks!
I haven’t had any problems with site on my work computer and home laptop.
Oh! I should clarify:
This is on my phone, where it used to work all awesomely!
Seem to remember someone else saying recently they were having issues. I want to say Tallest.
I have the issue mobile use only. It will sometimes refresh without…but more often then not i have to refresh the page manually which will then log me out more than it ever did before…which was never.
I find that I need to log in more often than I used to. I’m not sure when that started – both of the likely software suspects update automatically so it is harder to check what changed the behavior.
The comment refresh goes away when it logs you out.
I found this conversation refeshing!
Holy shit. An American won the Boston Marathon.

Whoa!
Probably just got citizenship. We know who the winners are – four Kenyans and a woman from Norway!
For the playoffs Bearly on Topic is on a 2 episode/ week schedule. I just uploaded the latest playoff series specific episode . Less than 24 hour turnaround is not bad but I am exhausted.
Gotta love how the Craps are doing their thing! I love consistency! Especially as my brother is a yuge Caps fan. Every spring he loses his mind over that shit!
Why is Grubbauer starting anyway?
Grubauer was riding a hot streak heading into the playoffs while Holtby was running cold. I’m guessing Holtby has his job back.
For those of you who enjoy Star Trek and are on Twitter, you should take a look at Swear Trek.

This series is renewing my love of Face-off Comparison Summary Reports. It is fascinating to look at how each center/ designee performed against each individual opponent on the dot.
only problem is that when NBC shows the stats its not showing wins determined with/without toss outs. Ive seen two different teams get thrown off the dots for literally anything and/or nothing. Its easy to lose when you have your top center thrown out every drop.
Oh, I’m talking about these things . I like looking at the head-to-head comparisons.
What the hell happened to us with the faceoffs? Jeez
itll happen when your wingers are taking EVERY drop
My suspicion is that the B’s are tryin to compensate for the speed of Toronto forwards and are just a little ahead of themselves. They were sloppy with passes on Saturday night as well.
Hey hockey pals!
Right? I should be listening to the Sox game right now!
It can’t be spring until the Leafs are out!
I should be AT the Sox game right now!
What is this work thing that you speak of?
I love rain, but this shit is nasty
Ahem….
I fully expect the leafs to come into this game hard at home. I expect the Refs and linesmen to be completely one sided and the Faceoffs will be stupid and Bergy will be tossed out of every dot. Bruins will most likely lose tonight, but i had them winning in 7 so if they win sooner…meh fine.
Peg…you fucked me…i had you winning in 4. Wild…i apologize for underestimating you….but lets face it your playoff history gives me no vote of confidence.
Speaking of no vote of confidence in playoffs…. CAPS….WHAT THE FUCK. DONT BE THE CHICAGO OF 2018. FUCKING WIN THIS SERIES AND BEAT THE PENS IN THE NEXT ONE.
My driveway is a sheet of ice…and its been raining all morning….i hate 2018.
I’m happy to see the Caps faceplant – I’m not a fan of theirs in general, and if the Bruins make it to the ECF, I don’t want to see them face Holtby – who could save shots at .700 all throughout the playoffs and then somehow manage to go .990 vs the Bruins.
I’d be stunned if it were any team other than Pittsburgh to make it out of the Metro
I didnt have the Pens beating the Caps purely on Pens lack of D depth and wasnt sure on Murry’s health. Holtby can be a wall at times and Ovi has to be itching for a cup bad enough to make it to the semis….I still see Bruins KILLING them…this isnt the same team Holtby had figured out, they know how to crash the net and they are quick enough to draw penalties and their PP is just too good.
Want to beat the Pens? Take no penalties!!!!
Fuck the Mild. They play miserable boring-ass hockey. Also, hate the Caps so they can lose. Will gladly take that hit in my bracket.
I was thinking the game was Tuesday. This should be fun. You’ve gotta imagine that the leafs will come out on fire after two humiliating losses in a row.
Yes, I expect that but I still hope/ want them to lose!
I can’t help but they they come out flying and still get lit up, but then they win game 4.
Morning all. I love Sports Weekends where everybody I root for wins.

I love Garfunkel and Oates.
