I could write a bunch of words here, make metaphors, write a clever haiku but all of that would be wasting my time like I did last night when I watched that game.

I mean seriously, did you know that the Bruins iced 12 forwards last night?
Really, twelve! The Bergy line, Jake DeBrusk and… 8 other guys.
Oh, David Backes must have been one of them because he got in a fight, and a weak-ass charging penalty so there’s that.
McQuaid literally disappeared. Is he injured? I don’t know.
Does anyone know why Tim Schaller was out? Just a healthy scratch, I guess.

sigh. What happened to the team that wouldn’t quit?

There was actually one point in the 2nd where I was impressed with his mobility because he got back pretty quick… and then made a somewhat goofy play

I’ve certainly been less disappointed by him than some observers.
I’m just a little weirded out by the fact that he wasn’t in the last 14 minutes of the game. (Shift report)

Among all the other lousy calls (and non-calls). The officiating has been extremely lopsided, in TBs favor. But, while the officiating certainly hasn’t helped the Bs, most of the blame for the losses in games 2 & 3 lies with the Bs poor puck-handling.

Absolutely. The refs are pissing me off but the Bruins are doing a splendid job of digging their own grave here.

Morning all. Stupid Bruins loss and insomnia has made for a very cranky Ellen this morning. I should be wearing a sign that says “Approach With Extreme Caution.”
Both the Bruins and the refs need to get their shit together. I want to smack them all.

Oh good lord, he did FOUR fist pumps?
This was totally a TWO fist pump game.

That explains a lot.

Were these left handed fist pumps? It feels like they were weak

  • So we all know they’re gonna win game 4 after a terrible showing like that one.
  • …but then what?
  • Why are we back to the middle of the Toronto series with the inability to complete passes?
  • Why can we not handle the puck at all?
  • Why is everyone going to feel the need to talk to me about this at work today?
  • Was going to trade the car in this morning but I forgot I have two interviews, so I guess I’m going to have to do it this afternoon. Blah.

It’s baffling, isn’t it? I felt genuinely sorry for the fans who bought tickets to that game.

I am at least spared this wink

So aggravating. I believe the Bruins owe me $105.

Ha! You are lucky you don’t have to discuss it with a bunch of people who pay zero attention when it’s not the playoffs. I’ve already had one coworker discussion about the game, but it was with a hockey guy who actually has played in a Beanpot, so no complaints there. It’s the annoying people who only want to talk to me after losses that I can’t handle – mostly because when they win, it’s “we won!”, and when they lose, it’s, “what’s going on with your team?”

    Hey Pals!
Glad I missed that one. Sounded like poor puck management right from jump.
    Please Bruins! Not like this.
    Pour me some bourbon!!

It was tough. Grizz, who very much knows what he’s doing, seemed to think the puck still had enough juice on it that once he gloved it down, it was going to still be moving and he could grab it upon turning around… that was not the case, at all. I see how it can happen but you have to be more aware in the playoffs.

The rest of the team was pretty horrible. Tuukka was by far their best player, which is the only explanation for Bergy making that scary pass to him.

It was that situation that often seems to happen though – every Bruins mistake seemed to lead straight to a Tampa scoring chance. Whereas when they make mistakes Bs hardly ever seem to even come out of it with the puck.

Don’t know if that’s bad luck, bad vision, bad hockey sense. Damned annoying though.
