Well it looks like they’re still having playoffs, even though the Bruins have been eliminated.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?
I’ve gotta say, seeing the Caps in the Eastern Conference Final hurts my brain. It just goes against the laws of nature. Especially considering that they went through a pretty hot Penguins team to do so.
And seeing Tampa Bay get their asses handed to them at home is rather surprising. Not because they have anything remotely resembling a home ice advantage (they don’t), but because they were so effective against the Bruins – creating pressure and putting up points early, winning board battles, and generally dominating 5 on 5 play. Yet they aren’t doing that vs the Capitals – the Bruins would also be ahead 2-0 vs the team that has played the past two games. I know that the Bruins have been their Achilles heel and they focused a lot of energy in finding a way past their rival, but if they were successful vs their nearest peer shouldn’t they be more effective against a lesser team?
And we sometimes forget – there is another conference for teams west of Toronto. I think they call it “hockey wilderness” or something. Well the Vegas Golden Knights have been playing the Winnipeg
Thrashers Jets. As tough as the Jets have been — and they gave the Knights a tough loss in game 1 — the Knights managed to split the series with a 3-1 victory in the Jets house last night.
So this is good, because now we get to see more over-the-top pageantry when they return to the T-Mobile center in a couple of days.
