Morning Free Association: Still Not Done

Ugh. Last night, Tampa had the chance to put the series away after winning the prior three games. But, they didn’t even score a goal. So, this series is going to seven.

In our NHL Bracket Challenge, only one person here has a bracket that is affected by this outcome and he’s looking mighty smart right now. Should the Capitals advance and win the cup, he’ll get another 100 points. So perhaps we should be rooting for him.

This series progressing to one more game gives the Vegas Golden Knights more time to rest. I’m not sure that I would want to face them rested.

I have to say, I wasn’t all that upset seeing Cedric Paquette get destroyed by Wilson last night. If the two of them blew up on impact, I’d be okay with it. Two of the biggest hits last night were Bolt to Bolt, blue line collisions that left the Lightning reeling.

Yeah, both those guys are tools – let ’em devour each other.

Hey Pals!
Caps looked like world beaters last night. There have been so many swings of momentum in this series. Caps were super physical last night! Love hit everything in sight. He probably deserved a boarding call on one of his hits. It seems like Ovie is having trouble beating defensemen on the rush.
Seventh games are fun and this one should be a beauty!

Morning all. Definitely surprised when I got up this morning and saw the Caps won.

Hello peeps,

I meant to check my bracket this morning but didn’t get round to it before I left for work, so thanks for reminding me! Geoff also picked the Caps to reach the SCF.

The bookies have VGK as 50-50 chances to win the Cup now, so that suggest they think the final will be close no matter who faces them. Seems fair enough. I’d probably have Tampa slight favourites if they get through but Vegas to have the edge over Washington. I haven’t seen terribly much of it since the Bs went out, though, admittedly.

Very weird weather here. It’s roasting hot but if the sun goes behind a cloud it gets freezing quickly. Very hard to decide what to wear!

My bracket went kablooie early on this post season.

And the team they’d be facing would be coming off a Game 7 so probably evens up the odds with one team being tired.

They do get a bit of a break though with Finals starting on Monday.

I was dead last last year!

Last I checked, I was dead in the lower half of one bracket, and way out in front on the other. (I forget which was in the BoT pool and which was in the B2B pool) However, picking the correct Cup winner is the great equalizer, so London Bear will get the win if the Caps go all the way.
I’m pretty darn happy to still be active in a bracket, since I’m usually knocked out of these things by the conference championship round.

I should be rooting for the Caps to lose, but they were playing really well right from the opening bell, and I found I couldn’t help rooting for them to win that game.

It hurts my brain to root for the Caps
Do I really want to live in a world where the Caps win the Stanley Cup?
It’s just too disturbing.
