Morning Free Association: Monday, Monday

This is the first week without hockey of any kind since last October. It feels weird. However, it’s good the 2017-18 season is over so we can soon turn out attention to the next season.

Before that happens, we must congratulate The Bear of London/ The London Bear/ Cars n Hockey for winning our NHL Bracket Challenge. With the Capitals win, he amassed 266 points, soundly beating Intentionally Widenberg’s entry by 65 points. How are you going to celebrate that win?

The hockey year is almost over with the NHL Awards (June 20th) and The NHL Entry Draft in Dallas (June 22-23) wrapping it up. Then on Canada Day (July 1), the new NHL Year starts up with free agency.

Is it October yet?

Over the past few weeks we have moved out kitchen to another room, ripped up all that flooring, replaced the floor joists and put in a new subfloor. My carpenter no showed again this weekend so I tried to get more done than it he showed, and used his pay to take Jo to dinner last night.
Then we saw Melissa Etheridge love in Great Barrington on the way home!!!!! She is unbelievable live.

Morning all. Heading home soon after a fun weekend. German dinner with VA, IW, phony, and Satan81 was fun as always. Definitely nursing a meat stomach ache.

Morning all.

I don’t think I’ll be celebrating quite as hard as Ovi. I don’t think anyone’s celebrated anythjng quite as hard as Ovi is doing! He’s going to bring new meaning to the phrase ‘Stanley Cup Hangover!’

I wonder actually if he’s ever going to be the same again – not as a result of his celebrations but just now that he has achieved what he wanted, finally, where do you go from here? What’s his motivation now? Not everyone wants to win championships again and again. For some, once is enough. We’ll see.

You wouldn’t be out of line calling her Momma Mofo she would likely agree with me on this.

I’ve learned to embrace the void and accept it as part of my daily life

There is an upside – more time for paddling.

I’m also pretty sore from the weekend. I finally started running all of the dead-fall branches from the winter through my wood chipper. I got through quite a pile, but it was hard on my knees & back. Now I need to clear out the next section of untidy yard because I’ve run out of room for the wood chips.

Happy birthday to your mom!
