Morning Free Association: Development Camp

Embed from Getty Images

This week the Bruins are holding development camp for prospects in the system. From goalies looking to pressure Tuukka Rask to young studs on offense, this camp has everything going on.

In another piece of news, a player defeated from the People’s Republique of Les Habitants. Defenseman Olivier Galipeau, formerly of Acadie-Bathhurst, was supposed to be at the Canadiens development camp, but he seemed to have taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

He’s smart enough to sit a dumpster fire from a distance.

Bruins development camp is a time to train individually and as a team, and to perform other bonding activities like community service projects, youth street hockey clinics, and of course, a group outing to a Red Sox game.

Here’s hoping we see some of the young guys up I Providence and beyond.

Morning all. Blah, rain. Oh well, we need it. And patting myself on the back because I remembered to put a pan under the leaky spot before I left for work.

My part of the world is deluge city. Surface streets are starting to flood out. (It’s always fun when you see water coming OUT of the storm drains).
Meanwhile, the dog has to go outside & do her morning ablutions, and afterward is all too happy to stay out nibbling at the grass, while I stand next to her getting drenched.

I had SatanDog earlier this month while SatanParents were on vacation. She decided it was perfectly fine to walk the entire neighborhood in the pouring rain. She just looked at me like, “It’s fine, I’ll just dry myself off on your couch.”

Hi Pals!
I love player development blurbs! It’s our hot stove, maybe our not stove. That time when every stout forward could become the next Cam, when every puck moving defensekid is a potential Bobby! Yes, we’ll find out later that there is only one Cam, only one Bobhy BUT, dreams can float me through the great hockey void!!
I’ve been wearing some pretty stout braces on my knees. Last night I went to lighter braces and skated like I was a kid again! Well, like a 50 year old kid. Still, felt good. The area of my leg where the acupuncture happened is still a lil tender, but the ones feels okay. Wow.
Heading north asap. Deerfield River Festival weekend. Come to the fairgrounds in Charlemont for music, cheap beer, and a lot of drunk boaters Saturday night!!!

River Festival sounds great. drunk boaters not so much…

Good luck with the knees. My Dad had acupuncture on his back a while ago. He said it worked well but only for a short time. Fingers crossed. Have a safe trip

Thanks! Those boaters do wait until apres boat to drink. They ain’t so bad.

So the acupuncture can unravel the knots caused by injuries, but knots return it injury still exists. We’ll see!

Defenceman Olivier Galipeau was scheduled to attend Montreal Canadians development camp, but has now signed an AHL contract with the Providence Bruins and will attend Boston Bruins development camp

Think I have a new favourite player. That’s delicious!

Thinking I might have to invest in a PBruin Galipeau jersey!
Live shot of Galipeau realizing he was about to go to Habs Camp:

It makes sense – the Habs are a mess, while the Bruins are contenders and look to remain so for several years. Also, Claude is famously reluctant to give prospects playing time, and that’s gonna roll down hill, while Butch seems to enjoy bringing up the Colby Cave’s of the org.

I love that gif. I’d love to know what he saw in the room that was so shocking!
