This morning, Phony sent this to me to suggest that we and our pal Smithchuk go down some time to revel in local pro and pro-bound hockey players in summer action.

For the past few summers, I’ve tried to get down to Foxborough at least a couple of times during the summer. Guys, I got to see Zemgus Girgensons! Usually there’s a whole bunch of hometown NHL players and their brothers like the Hayes’,the Veseys, Brian Boyle< Keith Yandle, and more. Jimmy Hayes celebrates goals like he's never going to score one ever again. And that one summer, it was true that he would never score another as a Bruin. This summer has been different. Usually a font of information, the Foxborough Sports Center would post rosters and schedules of the games. Not this summer. They seemed to have posted the schedules for the Pro-Development league, but not the Foxborough Pro League. A few days ago, a local acquaintance and I were talking about the FSC because she was going to film some youngsters playing hockey. That's her job. Anyway, I asked her to snag me a hard copy of the roster since they used to just leave those out during the games. She reported back that not only are there no published rosters but that the games were not at 7 anymore but in the middle of the afternoon, around 4pm. She had asked the woman who usually was in charge of these things. Why would the games be at 4? Are they trying to keep the general public out? Is it that some of the players have to come down from New Hampshire or even Maine and want to get home before it's too late in the evening? Do they not like us anymore? I have no idea but I might still get down there and check it out for myself and report back.
