Morning Free Association: Welcome Back

Welcome back to the work week, buds. I hope this weekend of sports didn’t kill you. What am I talking about? The Red Sox won the World Series!

Over the weekend, the Bruins played the Montreal Canadiens and lost. This was the first loss of the season at home and just makes it so the Bruins won’t have a perfect record against their storied rivals. We could pretend the whole thing never happened because everyone was watching the Red Sox, right?

After playing two games with the big team, defenseman Jeremy Lauzon was assigned to Providence. Lauzon performed well in his two games averaging 12:12 TOI. I’m sure we’ll see him again later on this season.Lauzon being back in Providence can only mean one thing: Torey Krug is ready to play.

It looks like Krug will make his season debut against Carolina in Raleigh on Tuesday night. The team could really use his help…on offense. After scoring two goals at even strength and with the goalie in net on Thursday night, the B’s followed that up with zero against the Habs. Sure No Goal showed up in that game, taking back Ryan Donato’s effort in the first period. The B’s could use a little bit of help there. And Torey knows how to drive some pucks into the offensive zone.

And at some point we need to talk about this:

That girl is awesome and I want her to be my life coach. And Chara awkwardly dancing and enjoying it is wonderful.

I feel like the only way for Chara to not be awkward is for him to be surrounded by other giraffe-height people

If he’s not a wacky inflatable tube man for Halloween then why are even having Halloween?

And though you can’t really see him, I’m sure Bergy is dancing perfectly.

Hey Pals!!!
Only watched the Bs until the second goal. Meh. Bruins still get beat by quick transition, counterattacking teams. They get somewhat of a pass on this one, with the banged up D. Carlo seems to play better when he’s needed most. Nice quality.
Played disc golf in the nor’easter saturday, because i can. Trip up north yesterday. So beautiful right now!!!

Yeah, that B’s game sucked. Speed kills… the Bruins.
Maybe when the gang gets back together on D it will be better.

Also, they weren’t very creative in front of Price. He’s not a goalie you can get results on by merely putting pucks on net – you need to put ’em in the air, not on the ice, and you need to have some motion to make him work to figure out where the puck is going.

And you need to not be egregiously offside. D’oh!

Unrelated: Bruins killed me on Saturday. They looked like they had never played together before.
