Morning Free Association: Injury Problems

Sunday saw the return of Jeremy Lauzon to Providence. Just as quickly as he was sent down, he was recalled on an emergency basis.

As Torey Krug prepares to begin his season on tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes, Matt Grzelcyk will likely sit it out with an lower body injury sustained on Saturday night against the Habs. Grzelcyk didn’t practice on Monday and might be good to go though he remains doubtful for tonight.

“[On Sunday], he did not feel great,” said Cassidy, “Today couldn’t practice, so he’s doubtful for tomorrow. We’ll have to see how he is…if Grizz recovers well enough to play tomorrow then we’d look at putting him in for, I guess you’d say, [Jeremy] Lauzon or [Steven] Kampfer.

“We’d have to decide what’s the best fit for our lineup. Obviously Kampfer being a right shot probably keeps him in.”

Charlie McAvoy is back skating but isn’t playing tonight and it’s unclear whether or not he’ll be back in the lineup on Saturday night. David Backes looks to be back then. To help out offensively, center Colby Cave was called up from Providence. The ginger sensation has 5 G and 5 A in 8 games played with Providence this season. Maybe he can give that third line a much needed boost.

Hey all.

Our clocks went back on Sunday, so it’s an 11pm start for me tonight – should be able to get in the first two periods before I start to nod off!

Bring on Krug! Can’t say I’m a big fan of his, but I don’t mind being proved wrong on such things!

Nope. No nice things for us.
But hey, more Lauzon should be cool. And Kampher has been solid enough.

The turnaround between “Get thee to Providence” and “Get your ass back up here” was so quick,I have a mental image of him getting the call while southbound on I-95 and banging a uey right there on the highway.

Gooood Morning Pals!!!,
I’m not sure what’s so good about it, but hey…
Owner is now fighting with roofer! More rain in the forecast and all work stopped on roof. Yay!! Ummm, probably a good time to just get it done… but what do i know? (said the man with wet hair)
Rest Grizz. Rest everyone who is injured. The kids are alright!
Went to a NIHOA (refs) meeting last night and a fight broke out! A long drawn out argument over last spring’s playoff assignments. Did i mention that our meeting hall has a bar and…… yeah. Can’t wait for the next meeting!
Double tonight!!! Pimpin’! (getting paid to fuck up a game!)

I’m glad to see it’s not just darts nights that can descend into chaos (usually when I’m not there!)

Personally, I try not to start fights with people holding sharp objects.
