Game Day Thread: Red Wings @ Bruins

Didn’t we just do this?

Tonight, the Bruins get to once again play in their own barn, where they will host the annoying Detroit Red Wings

The Bruins most recently faced the New York Islanders. The Isles play a bit of a heavy game, and there was a little hitting that happened. Most annoying is the hit on David Krecji – no call, but it did cost him at least one tooth.

But fortunately for #46, former teammate Johnny Boychuck was in the neighborhood and politely retrieved the mislaid chicklet.

The Bruins did leave the game with a 2-1 shootout win. This is good timing for a win since it was a banner night – literally. On that night the Bruins retired Rick Middleton’s jersey number #16.

On other notes, the Bruins gave prospect Jan Kovar a look at practice on Wednesday – he had been on a PTO with the P-Bruins which just ended. Unclear whether the club will return with a longer offer, and it is rumored that he is sitting on multiple offers from clubs in Europe. Not quite on the injury train is Ryan Donato – who lost 5 teeth after “eating a biscuit” earlier in the week. He has been brought back from the AHL to the roster on the big club.

And happy birthday to Noel Acciari

Let’s do some lines.
The Bruins still have P-Bruin callups Jakub Forsbacka-Karlsson, Colby Cavé, Connor Clifton and Jeremy Lauzon as well as the return of Ryan Donato. Colby Cave seems to still be ready to center the 63–88 pair. Carlo will appears to be ready to make his return today. This would leave Clifton as the odd man out on defense, but Fluto reports that Kampfer is the healthy scratch.

Tonight’s opponent are the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit has feasted recently on OT situations, allowing them to creep back into a resprectable place in the standings, and managed to beat the Bruins in OT last time they met. Martin Frk was replaced on Friday with Cristoffer Ehn. Will we see additional players Adam Qwt, Bob Ghk, and Charlie Rtgh? I mean FFS, these aren’t syllables – heck, the aren’t even phoenyms. Trevor Daley left Friday’s game early and will not be seen tonight. (h/t Daily Faceoff):
