Morning Free Association: Three in a Row

The Bruins approached last night’s victory in a novel way, by choosing to lose for the first 20 minutes.

Late in the first, two pucks got past Tuukka Rask within 40 seconds giving the Coyotes a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission. It took an additional 8 minutes for the Bruins to get on the board, which they did when Danton Heinen lit the lamp for the fourth time this season.

Next up, David Pastrnak

Then a Marchy twofer

so, with the game 4-2, the Bruins had it in the bag? Nope. Some guy named Michael Bunting scored his first NHL goal against Tuukka Rask, as it always happens. Early in the first, I made a prediction about a Yotes player scoring his first goal. Right idea, wrong player.

Anyway, B’s held on to win their third in a row.

Next up, Friday at the Penguins.

Hey all.

Only caught the highlights but it looked like feast and famine from the Bs last night!

Very busy day here – the World Darts Championship starts tomorrow. Apparently it’ll be on BBC America, which is interesting as it’s not on BBC Uk!

This has probably been mentioned before here, but I gotta say:

Despite all the injuries we’re still firmly in the playoff mix. Our defense has performed far better than expected – Moore’s been a particular surprise. The secondary scoring issue hasn’t been solved but the Super Cubs are getting a lot of ice time and battle hardening and they’re making strides. Bergeron and Chara are skating again. Oh and the cubs in the system are looking good, too. I like where we’re at.

The defense has been surprisingly effective – the Bruins have been in the top 3 in fewest goals against all year. Though to be fair, they’ve gotten mostly stellar goaltending as well.

Morning all. Saw a quarter of the game, literally. Partition at the restaurant blocked 3/4 of the TV so all I could see was the tops of helmets.
