Morning Free Association: WTF

Did the Bruins play a game last night? I’m not sure. I seem to remember David Pastrnak and Peter Cehlarik scoring goals, but I don’t remember much happening after that.

Oh that’s right, the Bruins just fell apart after the first period.

It’s such a shame because they dominated much of the first 15 minutes, the aforementioned goals were scored within the first ten minutes. Before the period was through, Philly scored once.

Peter Cehlarik actually had two goals on the night, the second coming in garbage time when the game was all but out of reach. So, he had a pretty good night. Of course, Sean Couturier had a better one with a hat trick.

One concern that is becoming more and more troubling is that Jaroslav Halak is reverting to form. Halak is capable of great moments of goaltending and he had some great saves last night. However, his numbers are dropping in bad ways.

That won’t stop the haters though.

Hey, at least we can be happy they won the Corsi war, right?

Ugh. Tonight the B’s take on another bad team in the St. Louis Blues. Please oh please show up tonight guys!

Well, that was 10 minutes of fairly dominant hockey last night. Obviously they must have won big, right?

Ugh.
The whole “dominate possession only to give up golden opportunities & lose the game” seems so “Claude Julien era” I thought we were over that.

I’ve gotta imagine that Backes is in the lineup tonight against his old team, though riding the Cehlarik wave seems pretty tempting.

Play Backes sit Heinen (unless they play different wings – I have a mental block when it comes to left and right!)

Hello!

Settled for the highlights this morning because i accidentally saw the result. At least I THOUGHT I did! Could’ve sworn the headline I caught a glimpse of was “Cehlarik scores twice in 6-3 win.” Ah well.

Do we play poorly against bad teams or do they up their games against us? Whichever it is it’s damned annoying.

A Brit-freindly(ish) start time tonight, but I have to be up extra early because Little Bear has a school field trip tomorrow… Hey ho. Let’s go Bs!

Morning, hockey pals!

  • What a dumb game last night. I think we can probably expect a “statement” game tonight. I hope so, anyway.
  • Taking my 15 year old niece and nephew to the game tonight.
  • Cehlarik looked good. Despite his skating being the biggest knock against him, he really is able to stay with the play, and he’s got good hands. I like the idea of he and DeBrusk on the same line because they’re both net crashers. They’re like normal sized version of Looch and Horton (hahahahahahahah, I know how ridiculous this is but you know what I’m getting at).
  • Halak has had a rough go lately but the team is not helping him.
  • I will be shocked if Lehtera doesn’t get a game or two. It’s horrible but Donato crawling out of the scrum on all fours cracked me up.
  • It’s be really nice to see the kid line put the biscuit in the basket. They’re playing fine, just not getting results yet.
