Morning Free Association: Back in Action

The long wait is over! After a nine day break, the Boston Bruins will take the ice this evening to take on the Winnipeg Jets.

Yesterday, the Bruins announced that starting goaltender Tuukka Rask has been placed on IR retroactive to January 19th, which allows him to be taken off IR whenever he is ready to go. However, no one knows what that timeline is right now and Rask remains day-to-day.

Providence Bruins goalie Zane McIntyre has been called up to act as backup for Jaroslav Halak on an emergency basis.

Other moves that the Boston club made involved forwards. Peter Cehlarik and Trent Frederic have been recalled from Providence. Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson and Ryan Donato have been sent down to Providence.

Hopefully Frederic can shore up the third line center role starting tonight.

Tune in tonight and join us here to watch it all happen!

Okay, it’s not Panarin that bothers me. They can have John Moore and (do the Be still have) Koko’s rights.. NONE OF THE KIDS!!

Hello,

Good news about Rask.

Why send Donato down? I thought he’s been doing a good job. Just no room at his position?

Hey hockey pals!

  • Kept trying to drop in yesterday but I had a crazy day because we let someone go Friday and then my best person was out with some kind of crazy stiff neck yesterday (happening again today), so I was down for the count.
  • Hockey tonight and I can’t wait!
  • I really hope Trent Frederic makes a splash and doesn’t look timid out there.

I don’t want the Bruins to trade for Panarin. Would he make a difference – probably. Enough? Probably not. I don’t feel like he is worth altering The Plan. (Not the plan where I take over the universe….that’s on, no matter what!)
I just want OUR guys to get it done.

I could go either way, though I have no desire to part with McAvoy, DeBrusk, et al, and you’ve gotta spend money to make money. Also, I would only trade for bread man if it were a sign and trade.

My father was a breadman, though, so I’m partial. I realized recently that as a redhead who delivered bread for a living, my mother married a ginger bread man!
