Morning Free Association: Another Game 7

There are four certainties in life: death, taxes, Patrice Bergeron being nominated for the Selke, and a playoff series between the Bruins and Leafs going to seven games.

Yes, meine Freunde, we’ve arrived at the Most Important Game for the Boston Bruins This Season™. Sure, Sunday’s Game 6 was the Most Important Game for the Boston Bruins This Season™ at that point just as this one is now. It’s make or break, do or die, win or go home. The Bruins have to be sharp and ready.

Part of that is deciding whether it’s better for the player to skate or rest the day before. David Krejci, who is having a good series, decided on the latter, which raised some alarm in some fans. It’s a perfectly reasonable thing for him to do because only David Krejci knows David Krejci the best. Veterans know how to do these things.

Yesterday, Bruins media focused upon Bruce Cassidy, Patrice Bergeron, and Torey Krug. Brad Marchand was his own media playing with The Mayor of Walpole Chris Wagner’s special NHL media feed.

Believe in Boston.

So, the top seed from each division is gone except the Caps, who could be gone tomorrow. Wild.

So much for the idea of top teams having an easy path in the playoffs! lol

Hi folks.

Who doesn’t love a game seven? To my mind, the Bs have won the three games in which they played like they actually wanted to win. If they show up they should win, and if they don’t show up then, frankly, they don’t deserve to win.

My viewing strategy thus far has been to go to bed earlyish after necking two pints of water, then wake up naturally in time for the start of the second period. The waking up bit has worked well, but then being wide awake at 3am not so much. Particularly now school has started again and I have to be up at 7. Soooo, I think I’ll take in the first and then read the celebratory tweets in the morning!

Gotta work tonight…. That’s good news! Adult league players, do whatever the fuck you want to do on the ice tonight!!! My eyes will be focused on the telly in the lobby (i’ll be swingin’ it around, so it faces the ice)!!!
Go Bruins!!!
Tears in my eyes right now from watching 2013 game7 vs Toronto highlights!!!!

I remember it well. Up until the Leafs fourth goal went in and I gave up and went to bed!! How is that six years ago already?
