This weekend, the Bruins eked out a victory, one that they shouldn’t have had to win so closely. Everything was going well enough until 10:33 in the third period when yet another controversial goal rattled the Bruins.
I always thought the standard for reviews involved 1) being able to see that the puck crossed over the line by seeing white between the goal line and the puck and 2) the review had to have conclusive evidence to overrule the call on the ice. No matter what the NHL says, it doesn’t seem like this should have been allowed as a goal.

This setup a flurry of goals within the last half of the period with David Pastrnak scoring twice, including the game winner, to make it a Bruins win. However, the Seth Jones goal was not the only video review of this game. With 15 seconds left in the game and 6 attackers on the ice, the Blue Jackets made a final effort to score a game tying goal. Charlie McAvoy had no stick but that didn’t matter because Tuukka used his whole body to prevent the puck from going in. The was no video evidence to prove that the puck crossed the line and the B’s held on to win.
Tonight, the Bruins have a chance to put this series away in Columbus.
