Morning Free Association: Grzelcyk’d

For most of the season, the Bruins lacked solid secondary scoring. Heck, it was difficult to even prime the pump on the second line. Yesterday secondary scoring was the story of the game in the Bruins 6-2 rout of the Hurricanes in the Mother’s Day Matinee at the Garden.

Each period, the B’s methodically wore down Carolina, scoring two goals in each.

In the first:

Matt Grzelcyk’s first on the night.

Then Jake DeBrusk after taking three attempts in the same place lights the lamp. This was a quick strike goal on the power play (only 6 seconds!) after Justin Williams tripped Danton Heinen.

Bonus: Louie DeBrusk hanging out with the Grzelcyks during the game. Yep, their sons scored the first two goals of the game.

Early in the second, Connor Clifton scored his first ever NHL goal. His mom was in attendance because his brother is playing a tournament in Walpole. In Walpole!

This forth one requires some setup. Late in the second period, Brad Marchand and Justin Williams engage in some extra curricular action for which Williams goes to the box for Holding. I guess Marchy lucked out that his taunting was funny enough to keep away from the sin bin.

Early in the third period, David Backes scores his second of the playoffs.

After taking yet another “light” tripping penalty, Patrice Bergeron is ion the right place at the right time to take the puck up the ice and dish it to Danton Heinen for the sixth goal. QUOTA!

Carolina did come back in garage time to score two goals. The latter of the two, and more hilarious, happened when Tuukka Rask got bored and had an adventure with his pal Brandon Carlo.

And shortly after that, it was the end of the game. Next game is in Raleigh on Tuesday night.

Don’t get comfortable, Bruins. Stay hungry.

I’m thinking about joining an additional summer hockey league. I would probably play the league below me.

The downsides
1. I would be at the rink all day every Sunday
2. My brother and I would no longer carpool, and this is something we really enjoy. (Yeah, my brother and I are extremely close.)
3. Mo’ money, mo’ problems.

The Upside
1. Mo’ hockey, mo happiness
2. My butt will look amazing
3. Spending all day at the rink could create a special day. On Sundays, I play hockey and just have time to myself otherwise.

Ten week session begging the first weekend in June. We’ll see

Jo heads to Miami Thursday, so game 5 is out of the question. The series will not go past 5 (I’m giving a Messier guarantee, not a Torts guarantee!), so our playoff game, if it happens, will be in the SCF!!!

Ok, Bruins,
No game 5 – you gotta win it in 4!

(But mostly – just win it.)

I thought it would be nice for the B’s to win at home.

Morning all. Winning is fun. Bruins should do more of it. Preferably like 6 more times.

Yes!
Come on, Bruins – just win 6 more games and you can take the summer off!

I mean, we’re really not asking a lot here. Just a measly six games.

Hey Pals!!!!
I’m not usually a fan of the manatee game, however the B’s made this one quite enjoyable!!!! Loved seeing the parents together, watching their kids killin’ it!!!!
I’d really like to see the Bruins win game 3!!!
Okay, time to make brekkie for Jo!!l

I bloody love em! lol

I’d really like to see the Bruins win game 3!!!

Carolina are unbeaten at home this playoffs, right? Gotta think if the Bs win game three the Canes confidence is going to completely disappear. Especially after the manner of the first two wins.

No mercy!

If the Bruins have a Stanley Cup Final game that conflicts with my games, that might be the only time I take time away from the rink.
