With the Boston Bruins clinching the Eastern Conference with the sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes this past Thursday, they’re going to catch up on the rest that they didn’t get through the first three rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It will be a long rest.
After the St Louis Blues tied up their series with San Jose on Friday night, the NHL released the schedule for the Stanley Cup Final. The Bruins now know when they’ll play just not who they’ll play.

While some fans and reporters worry that this long period of time off will do make the team, especially Tuukka Rask, rusty, others are glad that the injured, like Zdeno Chara, will have time to recuperate and recover from what ails them. On Sunday, Cassidy addressed the media after practice to give some updates: David Krejci took a maintenance day, Chara and Steven Kampfer skated before practice but did not join, the team is exploring night time scrimmages at Warrior to stay fresh and focused in the meantime.
