St. Louis Blues interim head coach Craig Berube spoke with the media on Tuesday after the Bruins win that forced a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final in Boston on Wednesday night. According to him, he wants his team to show more physicality in Game 7.
Berube said he wants to see more physicality, saying some players might have held back because of the possibility of suspension. He credited Bruins for boxing out well but said the Blues have to find a way to get inside more. #stlblues

Exactly how much more physical does he mean when he regularly has his players headhunting and taking cheap shots.
The Blues? Dirty? No way!

Those are just a sample of what’s been happening.
The Blues have already had two of their players serve one-game suspensions this series alone: Oskar Sundqvist for boarding Matt Grzelcyk in Game 2 and Sergei Barbashev for an illegal check to the head on Marcus Johansson in Game 5. I guess with no further games this season after Wednesday night, there is no fear of suspension for dirty hits. So go hog wild, guys!
Seriously, could you imagine the crap that Bruce Cassidy would get if he employed this passive-aggressive signaling to his team, the fans, and the media that this is the right thing to do?
For what it’s worth, the officiating crew will reportedly be the same as the one for Game 6.
Same offiating crew for Game 7 as last night for #StanleyCup pic.twitter.com/9KEzDGXFoy

While the Bruins didn’t benefit from getting fewer calls, it was still a better officiated game than the ones before it.
We’ll have to see what happens tomorrow night.
I’m sure I heard someone say only one of the Blues players had been in a Cup Finals before this year. Can anyone confirm?
David Perron. I can’t think of anyone else.
Thanks bud.
Writing a preview. At least six goals is my prediction …
Oskar Sundqvist played TWO games for Pittsburgh in 2016. I don’t know if they were in the Final though
UPDATE! They weren’t. Once against the Rangers and one against the Caps.
Aha. Thanks! Done quite a bit of statistical delving and on paper there can be only one winner. But I SO don’t want to put the hex on it! They’re not playing the game on paper!
Btw, don’t let me take up your study time digging up stats!
Don’t forget to mention that Backes has been playing in his first Cup Final! It’s against his former team! He was their captain! I hope Bagel Bruins knows this!
By golly! He’s 35 too! How amazing would it be if he wins against his old team! People need to know this information!
This is important information!
Thanks! But I am at work now. But I am not working well.
I went looking about a week ago. It was Perron and some AHL guy who hasn’t gotten a callup in the postseason.
I went to bed at 4:30, but I woke up every thirty minutes until 8:30.
I hate college.
Morning all.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Playoffs will be the death of us all.
HOLD IT TOGETHER! Almost there!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Pals!!!!
The day of days has arrived!!!!! Go Bruins!!!!
I have to agree with Berube…. The Blues avoided several potentially devastating hits. I can only imagine the stir of no calls precipitated the absence of big hits early. That’s okay….. let Berube instigate the self destruction of his team. They will be unguided missiles for a period, at least, while they measure the ref’s temperature.
Brad may have some fun, but i think the Bruins will be focused on hockey….. listen, the Blues can be mocked for years to come, if the boys will stick to hockey tonight!!!!!
I’m thinking the whistles will be on a leash, BUT, and that’s a big but(t), any borderline boarding, slashing, or head contact may get called. Unfortunately, a lot of this game will flow the way the refs let it flow. A championship game requires a tender touch. “The first call has to be a solid call, as it indicates the level of enforcement. A trip in the first has to be a trip in the third. That’s always the case, but everything is magnified in the SCF! Every second of SCF game 7 is like the third period of most games…. the third of a close playoff game is murder or attempted murder only for penalties. Use the skill early to gain an advantage…. do what you want to them bitches in the third.
^somebody send this to the Bruins, it’ll be handy^
Heading off to meet the remediation team at Jo’s house…. things aren’t as bad as they looked Saturday. Gotta keep moving forward, eh???
Well that’s good news at least
It’s good stuff that. While it’s obvious the players will approach such a big game differently, it never occurred to me that the officials might too!
Yeah, this doesn’t fill me with joy. It seems pretty hard for the whistles to come out in Game 7
Meanwhile. Berube has pretty much announced that there’s gonna be headhunting going on all game
With some of the Blues gooning it up in the last few minutes of game 6, I’m expecting a total shit show tomorrow night. And that doesn’t bode well for the somewhat smaller Bruins team.
