I’m a little numb myself today. I’ve been struggling to deal with some stuff, and the NHL postseason is just too long. It’s been 67 days since the season ended. So I’m pissed off that the Bruins couldn’t solve the Blues D but I’m also just relieved that it’s over.
I was really looking forward to a cup parade – I missed 2011, and the Superbowl parades all happened in February with streets impassible due to snow.
Still trying to figure out what the hell was up with Pasta and where Marchand’s brains went.

I love how long the Cup run is… but when you get all the way to the end and don’t win, I hate how long it is. <3

Hey Guys,
I could watch after the third goal and then walked out after the fourth goal. I feel like a bad fan but I also feel like I gave my all to this team, even when it difficult for me to do with my mental health issues this year. Which I now realize I haven’t spoken at length about to many of you. Someday. Let’s just say I’m a lot better.
As for this loss; I am all over the place but the one thing I haven’t done is cry. I’m very much a proponent of feeling whatever you’re feeling and getting it out but I don’t have anything really coming out. So, I’ve decided that I’m treating the next episode of Bearly on Topic as a therapy session. Anyone who has interest in participating, just let me know and we’ll schedule a time.

I’m alternating between being numb and then being pissed and then being more pissed because I’m pissed at the team I love and I don’t want to pissed at them but they really really pissed me off.

I can relate to this.
Judging from Twitter I kept faith a lot longer than most but even after I’d accepted it wasn’t going to happen I was saying to myself: “I’m a good fan – I’m watching to the end.” Then the fourth goal went in …

Morning all. So now my birthday will always be associated with the Bruins shitting the bed in game 7. So thanks for that.

Looking back at the game, the key moment was the Blues killing off the Bruins only PP. That gave them life. Bruins needed a goal there. But oh well.

That late goal in the first didn’t help. In the end, i think Binnington saved his best for last. He was pretty underwhelming in the first six games, but played well last night. Those big western Canada farm boys in front of him didn’t suck, either.

That 2nd goal pretty much broke them. They were putting the pressure on to potentially tie it up at the end of the period, and then gave the Blues a golden opportunity at the last minute. It was a backbreaker and they never really ginned up the same offensive pressure again.

Morning, hockey pals.
What a fucking bummer.
I never thought I’d be standing in the balcony, crying my eyes out, watching Lord Stanley be presented to the bad guys. I know I’m lucky to have been there – REALLY lucky – but I would rather have been home watching on TV, seeing them win. Enjoying it.
Also, every bar from Causeway Street to Fenway was closed last night. We walked around aimlessly for a while. Yelled about things. My tipping point was when garden security wouldn’t let us down the escalator we’d been using for the last 106 games because we weren’t part of the Blues season ticket holder after party. That’s when I lost my goddamn mind.
Well, here we are. Love you guys.

And now I’m crying again. Jesus. What am I, 7?
Hockey playoff runs take more out of you than the other big sports. The run is so long yeah if you make it four rounds and don’t come out on top, it’s absolutely crushing. I am more hurt than I was in 2013.

I have no wish to labour on it but I’m a bit surprised by this consensus.
2013 they had done enough to force a game seven, done everything right and were about to send the fans home with hope in their hearts and then they choked and threw it all away in a couple of minutes. I found that really tough and it must’ve been horrible for the fans in the building and you guys. Sure they’d have been outsiders for that game seven with Bergy and others really banged up, but still.
Last night I felt they lost because they didn’t deserve to win on the night. They let the situation get to them and their heads went.
I understand what you’re saying – the Bs were the better team (I completely agree) and the Cup was there for the taking, but there’s a lot more to winning the Cup than being the better team. Just ask Tampa!
And it’s not like the Blues are a bad team. Since January they’ve been top class. In the series they took three severe beatings and each time picked themselves up and won next time. Resilience, character. That’s what wins cups.
And I didn’t want to labour the point…
Anyway, that’s how I’ve been rationalising it.

Yeah, in 2013, the ‘hawks were legit the stronger team all season and were healthier, with a very good goaltender. Once Q figured out that Z was injured and Bergy’s injuries piled up, we knew how long the odds were and had time to prepare.
This time, the odds were even, the Bruins were the better team, and we had to see the cup awarded to another team on home ice.

I’m more numb than devastated. We all had heart and soul invested in this team… It’s gonna be a cruel summer although the Bruins losing isn’t as bad as that song!!! The future looks bright, if we can see past today!!!

Yes indeed – especially the D. Carlo, McAvoy, Grizz gave great accounts of themselves and can only get better surely. Krug had a great game last night – probably the Bs best player.
Don’t dwell on the past – learn from it and move on. There’s always next year!

which is funny when you think about it, because he was a MESS at the start of the game.

Morning guys.
Such a disappointment that after all the effort to get that far they let themselves down in the final 40. Credit to Binnington for keeping them in it. If a couple of those grade A early chances had gone it might have been a different story…
On the bright side – the Leafs now have the longest active Cup drought.
