Bear Tracks continued too tour Zdeno Chara’s hometown of Trencin with him where he donated shoes that he collected at TD Garden last season to those in need.
The shoes being donated today were collected during a drive at @tdgarden last season. A portion was also donated to underserved communities in Boston earlier this year. 👞🥾👟 pic.twitter.com/mB2sx8W2nA

“I saw those smiles and how happy those kids were. That made my day.”
There's no place like home for Zdeno Chara, who teamed up with @newbalance for a shoe donation in his native Slovakia 👞 👟: pic.twitter.com/i2yOoGiw8Y

And he toured his local castle. I’m a bit jealous. While I grew up in a magical place full of summer cottages of the rich and famous and home to the mysterious Touro Tower, which was once thought to be an ancient Viking fort but turned out to be a much more modern mill, and Miantonomi Tower, which is high enough to see out to Cape Cod, we did not have a castle.

Meanwhile, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy has been hanging out at Patriots training camp with his son.
It's always great to visit with our friends down in Foxborough. Thanks for having us, @Patriots!#PatsCamp | #NHLBruins pic.twitter.com/EdvvCGRyGJ

And NESN named a new rinkside reporter to their crew of Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley. Sophia Jurksztowicz comes to Boston from many hockey gigs in the Canadian media like Hockey Night in Canada, Rogers Sportsnet. She’s even been on an episode of Puck Soup. So, considering she has a pretty extensive background in hockey, we might like her. But she’ll never be as good as Naoko.
Naoko forever!
Morning all. Naoko is best. I miss Naoko.
Hi Pals!
Uneventful double last night…. Yay! Still tired this morn…. Jo had to make her own brekkie.
Oh! I bought another boat this weekend! It was cheap and old. I already have it outfitted…. Should be a great surfing boat. And one can never have too many boats, right?
The Long Winded Armada!
Some collections are never complete!
Hi folks.
If you like castles, Slovakia is certainly worth a visit. There’re hundreds of them – and I got married in one (Zvolen castle)!
Oh, UNDERSERVED communities. I read it as ‘undeserved’ and couldn’t figure out what they were driving at!
I also read it as “undeserved”. Can’t we give those shoes to those who deserve them???
I’m so tired of all these kids who think they deserve basic necessities like shoes!
I hear they just give castles away in Slovakia!
