This year’s Top 20 Under 25 for all of Boston sports is out for the 2020 season and quite a few Bruins made the list, including two in the top 4.
🏒🐻 Charlie McAvoy has cracked the top five in our #20under25 rankings once again after a strong performance during the Bruins’ Stanley Cup run.

Apparently this is some kind of fan ranking and compilation by NBC Sports Boston where each player is assigned a point value and ranked according to their average point accumulation. The whole list is actually 44 players with the Top 20 getting the recognition, slides, and write-ups by the NBC Sports Boston staff. Yes, that’s right, Haggs got to write up the blurbs for the Bruins.
Since you may not have the time nor the patience to scroll through the whole thing, I made a list for you to peruse and comment upon.

Wow, the Bruins have a bright future. I mean, can you believe that Pasta is still under 25? Hasn’t he been playing for a million years now? It’s so good to see so many young talented players in the system.
Do you think Pasta is ranked high enough? Do you think any Bruins should have been ranked higher or lower? When will McAvoy and Carlo be signed?
Oh man, I just realized that the reason we don’t have Sean Kuraly on this list is that he’s too old.
I was also surprised he wasn’t on there and figured that must be the reason! Yeah he’s 26 (just googled)
Damnit!
Morning all. I’d say that’s pretty solid for the top of the list. A case could be made for switching Pasta and Devers because, like GH said, Pasta’s been playing for a while now and you know he’s consistently good. Devers as #2 might be a bit of a recency bias because he’s having a stellar season but who knows if that’s an outlier or if he can sustain what he’s doing. Then again, stats don’t lie:
Those are indeed impressive stats.
Hiya folks.
I was in charge of the bbq for Mrs Bear’s birthday yesterday, so too busy to even say hello!
Was a good day and an old school mate of mine I haven’t seen in ages was in the area so he stopped by with his family. Good times!
Is Carlo rated high enough there? I thought he really came on a lot last year and no reason that shouldn’t continue. He’s one of the players I’m most looking forward to watch this weapon. (Actually meant to say season, but that works too, thank you autocorrect!)
Forgot to mention, when I picked up brother-in-law from the airport the other day, arrivals was awash with folks in Red Sox caps, Harvard sweaters and even saw a Bruins t-shirt, so I deduce a plane from Logan had just landed. Or maybe just a massive coincidence!
Carlo should be at the top! His offensive stats aren’t as great as some other players, but he is becoming a force. A true shut down defenseman, who is becoming a 200 foot player.
These are all words I love to hear about my boy. Man, I’m so glad I adopted him early.
Carlo does seem a little low on the list – especially with N’keal Harry & J.C. Jackson rated above him.
I think we can all agree that Tajon Buchanan is seriously underrated on this list. (I don’t know any of the names on the list except the Bruins after the top 11.)
And what about
Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (Revolution)
Severely underrated.
Oh my god he was so good in Hamilton!
Awww….happy birthday Mrs. Bear!
Hi Pals!
Computer problems yesterday, wasn’t able to say hi. Hi!….. the computer hasn’t gone away, so i probably still have problems.
Double last night on soft ice. A compressor problem, apparently. I haven’t had my skates sharpened since January, so not a big problem.
Top 20 of 44, yes! But how did John Beecher get a better rating than Vaakaneinen and Heinen…. I’m sure Haggs can figure that out for me.
Yeah, that’s an odd one
I think Beecher got the “ooo he’s the new shiny toy so we need to rate him higher” ranking.
It’s curious because we all know he’s not going to be on the team because he committed to. Michigan. Seriously, unless they’re on the team or in the system (AHL, NHL), please don’t rank them.
