Morning Free Association: Bruins Doing Bruins Things

Yesterday was a skating skills day and community day for the Bruins. Today is a well-deserved day off.

Late on Tuesday night, the Bruins announced that Karson Kuhlman has a non-displaced hairline fracture of his right tibia and will be out for at least 4 weeks. That kind of sucks for him as he is one of the speedier guys up and down the ice and yet another opening night linemate that Jake DeBrusk will be without for a while.

That should be good news for Anders Bjork, right?

Wrong. While Cassidy liked what he saw out of the young left wing based upon his work in Providence, Bjork was assigned to Providence on Wednesday. This move might have been more about getting in practice time and cap space. He could be back in the lineup on Saturday especially if David Krejci is not good to go.

Krejci and Joakim Nordstrom skated in the morning. Nordstrom could be ready on Saturday but Krejci is still day-to-day.

The Bruins did their good stuff in the community yesterday. Matt Grzelcyk and Par Lindholm showed off their creativity while decorating pumpkins with children at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Our other Swedish pal, Joakim Nordstrom teamed up with Steven Kampfer to give a clinic at Warrior.

And Cliffy Hockey and The Kuhl-Man visited kids at a local school. One boy felt really bad about meeting the Bruins while he was in a walking boot only to find that a Bruins player also was wearing one.

What a busy day!
