The Bruins face the Senators tonight at 7PM EST on NESN, because, they are contractually obligated to play that team several times each season.
After 12 games, the Bruins are at 9-1-2, which is good for 2nd place in the Atlantic.
The NHL leader boards currently have a lot of Black & Gold on them. The Bruins are the league leader in fewest Goals Against per game with an excellent 2.00. The player with the most Goals scored is David Pastrnak, with 12 – tied with Leon Draisaitl. He also has the 2nd most points with 24. The goaltender with the highest save % is Tuukka Rask at .951. The Bruins have the league’s best power play at 31.0%. It’s been a good start to the season, and secondary scoring has begun to develop!
What will be the lineup tonight?
Brett Ritchie is out with an infected cut similar to Joakim Nordstrom. Peter Cehlarik, who had previously been called up from Providence on emergency basis, is back up here once again.
Karson Kuhlman is on IR with an arm fracture, after blocking a shot. Anton Blidh is having shoulder surgery, and will miss the next 4 months.
Defensemen Kevan Miller and John Moore are still on Injured Reserve and Long-term Injured Reserve respectively, providing playing time for Matt Grzelcyk and Connor Clifton. Miller has begun practicing while wearing a non-contact jersey. Cliffy hockey is getting close to the end of his waiver exemption, so Steven Kampfer will play tonight.
Tuukka Rask will be in goal today.

Tonight’s opponent are the Ottawa Senators. They are running at a dismal record of 3-7-1 (7 points), placing them at dead last in the standings. So the Bruins are bound to let them stay in the game much longer than necessary.
They went into full fire-sale mode going into last year’s trade deadline, and continued moving players in the offseason. They traded away Mark Stone, Matt Duchene, Ryan Dzingel, Chris Wideman, and Mike McKenna at the trade deadline.
In the offseason, they acquired Vladislav Namestnikov via trade. They also got Nikita Zaitsev, Connor Brown & Michael Carcone from the Maple Leafs for Cody Ceci, Ben Harpur & Aaron Luchuk
I dare you to try and name the members of a forward line on this team right now.
Artem Anisimov, Rudolfs Balcers and Colin White are all out with various forms of lower body injury. Daily Faceoff has Bobby Ryan sitting out tonigt – I’m not sure why.
