Game Day Thread: Bruins @ Red Wings

Hey! That's Brad, on the TV!

The Bruins are on the road tonight, at the Little Caesars Arena to play the Detroit Red Wings, on NESN.

After 14 games, the Bruins are at 11-2-2, which is good for 1st place in the Atlantic, and the best points-percentage in the league.
The NHL leader boards currently have a lot of Black & Gold on them. The Bruins are 3rd in the league in fewest Goals Against per game with a respectable 2.33. The player with the most Goals scored is David Pastrnak, with 15. He also has the most points with 30, with Marchy close behind him at 28. Brad Marchand has the 2nd best +/- at +13. The goaltender with the highest save % and GAA is no longer Tuukka Rask after that poor performance in Montreal, he’s now at a more than respectable .936 and 1.88. The Bruins have the league’s best power play at 31.4%. It’s been a great start to the season!

What will be the lineup tonight?

David Backes is still out with an upper body injury after the collision with the Senators’ Sabourin. Jake DeBrusk suffered a lower body injury vs Montreal, and Peter Cehlarik is in.
Brett Ritchie is back after being out with an infected cut similar to Joakim Nordstrom. Zach Senyshyn has been called up from the P-Bruins, .
Karson Kuhlman is still on IR with an arm fracture, after blocking a shot. Anton Blidh is out after having shoulder surgery. Par Lindholm has just been placed on IR with an upper body injury.
Hughes was in for Backes on Monday. These line changes are a gametime decision.

Defensemen Kevan Miller and John Moore are still on Injured Reserve and Long-term Injured Reserve respectively, providing playing time for Matt Grzelcyk and Connor Clifton. Miller has begun practicing while wearing a non-contact jersey. I was expecting Miller to come back tonight but Clifton is back, in spite of getting close to the end of his waiver exemption.

Tuukka Rask will be in goal today.

When we need goals, I don’t see the point of one of our top scorers taking himself off the ice for five minutes.
