Morning Free Association: It’s Awfully Quiet

Yesterday, there was little word from the Bruins. While Bruins reporters wrote pieces detailing the third period collapse, the latest in the now four-game losing streak, there was no word of even a practice coming from the Bruins. As it turns out, they had the day off completely.

Maybe it’s best that the players had the day off from team activities, maybe focus on normal training. Today will be perhaps more unpleasant.

Tomorrow in Toronto they start the grind with the second of three back-to-backs this month, followed by a game at the Garden against the Capitals.

I know, Sean, I know. It’s going to be a tough weekend.

Morning. Sometimes when you’re down and out it’s best to take a day.

Morrrrrning.

Well, my darts team have ended our own four-game losing streak with two wins. We actually played a decent game last night! Come on Bs, follow our example.

As one of my teammates said last night- “it’s amazing how much more fun it is when we win!” He’s right. Winning is fun. Everyone should do more winning.

It’s a lovely day here. I’m sitting outside a coffee shop, waiting for Mrs Bear to finish work so we can get lunch.

I hope life is treating you guys just as good today!

Enjoy your lunch with Mrs. Bear!

And saw a news report about all the flooding in England. Hopefully the areas affected get a break soon!

Yeah, the north has been pretty badly hit. With an election coming up, perhaps they’ll get more urgent attention than they might normally have got!

Sounds like a darts captain needs to give a pep talk to the Bruins!

Start the night with a shot o’ single-malt” might not be viable advice.

Or perhaps it is.

Hahaha! Single malts are for celebrating wins (or commiserating after defeats). Only the weakest ditchwater while playing!

Hi All!
Bruce knows! Maybe he lets the leaders lead them out of this general malaise. It’s a tough group to crack the whip on. Probably too soon for the players to have a closed door meeting. I think Papa Bear pushes the cubs in his own, genuine way.
Jo and i went to see “Motherless Brooklyn” last night. Edward Norton is awesome (although he steals some of his part from DeNiro’s “Rain Man”, IMO. The cinematography is great. 1960 NYC, yo. I give it two thumbs up (no twist).

Sounds good. I like Edward Norton but it seems a long time since I’ve seen him in anything!

Okay, i have to watch it. I always thought Norton was very good, but he plays so many unlikable parts. He’s more likeable in this one.

That movie is a glorious roller coaster!
