Game Day Thread: Bruins @ NJ Devils

The Bruins are facing the Devils tonight.

After 20 games, the Bruins are at 12-3-5, which is good for 1st place in the Atlantic, though not enough to catch up with the Caps.

What will be the lineup tonight?

Well, Torey Krug, and a bunch of young forwards are injured. Krug was officially placed on IR on Saturday.
Forwards Paul Carey & Trent Frederic were sent back down & Brendan Gaunce was called up (though he did not skate in morning line-rushes). Urho Vaakanainen is still up.

Patrice Bergeron will be a game-time decision, recovering from a lower body injury.
If Bergy cannot make it, expect Krejci and Coyle to each bump up a line and
Par Lindholm to center a line with Bjork and Heinen or Ritchie.

Tuukka Rask will be in goal tonight.

Late update:
Gaunce was sent back down & Bergy is being held out.

Last time we saw the Devils was in the Bruins home opener where they came in with a record of 0-2-2, and left at 0-3-2. Now they are at 7-8-4 (18 points), which has them training at 6th place in the Metro division. They have 3 players listed as injured – Connor Carrick is on Injured Reserve with a broken finger, and Sami Vatanen appears to be returning from an Upper Body injury. Kevin Rooney missed Saturday’s game vs the Habs and will probably miss tonight as well. Mackenzie Blackwood appears to have supplanted Cory Schneider in net – Schneider has just been sent to the AHL affiliate in Binghampton NY.

A goal every 14 seconds is an acceptable scoring rate.
