Morning Free Association: A Grizzly Sight

Who knew the return of Brett Ritchie from injury would be so momentous, leading to a solid win. Just kidding. Tonight Jake DeBrusk also returned to lineup, albeit on the third line presumably to limit his minutes after the injury. While Patrice Bergeron was held back by his lower body injury, having two other players back in the fold playing regular minutes was just what the team needed.

Both David Pastrnak and Matt Grzelcyk had big nights, both scoring two goals, it was Brad Marchand who quietly had the best night assisting on the first three goals of the evening. Gryzz and Pasta scored the first two goals of the game in the first.

Fourteen seconds later…

Time sure does fly.

In the second, the Devils’ Blake Coleman scored on a backhand. Tuukka didn’t really see it coming.

It was within the final two minutes. The Bruins would regroup for the next frame.

In the third period, Pasta was tripped by PK Subban resulting in a power play that lasted all of 8 seconds before Pasta slapped it home.

Midway through the period, Grzelcyk scored his second on the night, embarrassing Subban with a deke at the blue line and going bar down.

Connor Clifton sealed the game with a fifth goal on the night.

It’s only fitting since it’s his #RevengeGame!

Tuukka was solid tonight, saving 25 of 26. The effort was good enough for third start of the game behind Pasta and Grzelcyk.

The Bruins next take on the Fightin’ Sabres on Thursday night at home.

Jo has given me big problems!!! She bought me 30 pairs of socks. What’s the problem? Some are black and gold…. Great. Some are black and blue… can’t be worn when Bruins play Toronto, Tampa, St Louis….. Some are black and red… can’t be worn when the Bs play NJ Devils, ditto Carolina, Detroit…. There’s black and green…(fuck you, Dallas…you get the idea. I have enough to think about, damn it

Hi folks

Great result last night. Goes to show it’s never a bad play to put a shot on goal.

Ain’t it the truth!!! I’ve always advocated the fifty foot bouncer when you’re in a slump ( I was in a perennial slump and fifty foot bouncer my best shot!). DeBrusk’s willingness to shoot from anywhere is infectious. Coyle is shooting more. BTW, that Coyle line, bravo boys!!! And all that down low pressure opening up the D…. we all saw what they can do!!

Hey All!!!
I interesting that Cliffy lead the stretch, then stretched the lead.. hmm, fascinating. Even more interesting, my tablet wants to change Cliffy to Fluffy.
Solid win against a team that’s still skating in circles. Devils have Andy Greene and Palmieri….. Not exactly Chara and Bergy.
